If I was forced to drink bourbon right from the bottle this would be a top choice for that endeavor. Smooth and clean with no bad flavors it should be at least 86 proof for the price paid. Better yet at barrel-proof I could probably justify an occasional purchase. If smooth wins over character and price is not a consideration buy some now. You won't be disappointed.

A good smooth bourbon for certain....however a bit of a non distinctive taste to it, a little on the softer side. But that is by far the biggest knock on it....a quality bourbon for certain.

A well rounded bourbon - drink straight of use a mixer.

chumpy... how, how, how, good for rinsin' down the cheek wad- lovely, smooth and particularly sniffy... a better slurper on the shelves? doubtful

As an avid scotch drinker, I have been expanding my horizons a bit into bourbon. This is a great tasting hooch! I can't think of a bourbon that I'd rather drink, with the possible exception of Pappy van Winkles, and Pappy is much less available.

Very smooth and drinkable.

You have to be in the mood for Basil Hayden. It is the softest tasting of the small batch bourbons...slightly too soft for my liking. It is interesting for a change of pace but would never be my "regular" drink.

The smoothest boubon I have tasted. I'm also a big fan of Knob Creek and Woodford

The best bourbon in the world.

Not a bad bourbon, but $40 a bottle for 80 proof? That's paying for a lot for added water.

I have only begun drinking Bourbon in the last year. I have tried the 4 small batch brands (Booker's, Maker's Mark, Knob Creek and Basil Hayden's. Of the four, I have enjoyed Basil Hayden's the most. I have also bought and enjoyed Woodford Reserve. I am anxious to try more.

It's a good - really good - whisky, but I'll go for the Maker's Mark if I'm buying. BUt I certainly will not turm down a Basil's.

A premium Jim Beam Bourbon. A light/smooth bourbon. I prefer Booker's, but Basil's is an excellent bourbon.
