 | callmetootie (4) 04/03/2003 | Good, solid musical fairy tale. Bells Are Ringing tells the story of Ella Petersen, a telephone operator in New York City who is falling in love with one of her clients, Jeffrey Moss. When she meets him, she fakes her indentity, and starts her relationship...but in the end, can she go on as another person? She knows that the part is over. The first version of the musical was performer by Judy Holliday in 1956, and the revival by Faith Prince in 2001. I saw the revival, and it was quite good. The book was slightly dated, but I enjoyed the scored, and the chemistry between the two main characters was glowing.
