Maybe they should start spending less money on the green gecko and apply some of that savings towards offering more affordable insurance policies. One call could save me hundreds of dollars on car insurance? That may be true but it my case that one call was to another provider who offered me a much lower rate. I know every state and individual has their own unique situation but you may want to do yourself a favor and shop around a little before you say, "Wow, cute gecko! I think I'll sign up to finance millions of dollars worth of prime time advertising space (oh yeah, and you get an insurance policy too)." In my case, Geico was certainly not anywhere near the best deal for my auto insurance needs.

Geico's advertising the lowest prices in Florida and that is absolutely false. I'm classified a safe driver and age 50. My wife also is a safe driver. Their price to us was $1,500 dollars a year and much higher than all other carriers. For me and my wife it only cost us $500 dollars a year. This is outright false advertising. I know of other people who said the same and customers who have quit after looking around and finding a much lower price. Look at me, we are saving a $ 1000.00 a year on car insurance. ;)

TERRIBLE, STOP TELLING LIES PEOPLE THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! YOU GUYS ON THIS SITE THAT SAY THEY ARE GREAT ARE TELLING LIES! AND I WILL SPREAD THE WORD. YOU MIGHT THINK THERE GREAT UNTIL YOU HAVE A CLAIM. I HIT A DEAR AND CALLED TO REPORT MY CLAIM AND THEY TOLD ME I COULD ONLY HAVE MY CAR SEEN ON THURSDAYS AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO DRIVE MY CAR 45 MILES AWAY TO HAVE IT SEEN AND SINCE i WORKED I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 2-WEEKS BEFORE MY CAR COULD BE SEEN. I DEMANDED SOMEONE COME OUT AND SEE MY CAR. FINALLY SHE SHOWS UP. I WENT AHEAD AND GOT 2 ESTIMATES SINCE MY DEDUCTABLE WAS 1,000. THE ESTIMATE FROM THE SHOPS WAS 2,600, THE ADJUSTER WENT TO THE PLACE I GOT MY ESTIMATE AND THEN THE ADJUSTER GIVES ME AN ESTIMATE 1,000 LOWER. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE. I AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT I PAID 2,000 AND I HAVE A CAR THAT HAS 2,500 IN DAMAGES AND THE RETAIL ON THIS CAR IS 3,000. THEY DECIDED ON THEIR OWN TO PAY ME A CHECK FOR 600.00 AND CLOSE THE CASE. I HAVE BEE... Read more

I cannot imagine a worse company. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM GEICO. -Customer service is horrible. -They LIE about their policies. -They make customers think that their policy is "state law" and then after you've used their misinformation to buy insurance with them they tell you it is really "their" law. -GEICO ENGAGES IN FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I've had geico for about 7 years now and have never had a problem. I've had one bumper bender that was my fault and they didn't jack my rate up. I've also had a military couple who scraped the side of my car while they were moving out...no way to identify them and the military wasn't giving that info out, but geico covered it anyways under the uninsured motorist deductible! awesome. I also had a cab driver hit me too. Very easy claim service.

I recently added my two qirls and they required a $250 payment up front. One agent claimed we could dice it into 6 monthly payments. I gathered the money and called back the next business day. This agent said that was no longer an option because that offer expired the LAST business day and that we MUST pay $250 immediately or be terminated! My driving record is perfect and I have never been late for a payment. I was a customer for about 5 years but I guess they didn't want me anymore.

I am a Geico fan. I don't have a perfect driving record and I still got the best rate from Geico.  I have been involved in two rear end accidents (found at fault), speeding ticket and cell phone ticket and after shopping around I saved $300 every 6 months from switching from Progressive to Geico. I am going on my 3rd year with geico and I have not found any other company to beat my Geico rate. Thank you Geico.

A Geico client hit my car and totaled it. Their fair market value for my car is a joke. I could not go out and buy my car for the money they offered me. Only after I threatened to sue did they offer more money, and it still isn't the right amount. Using their own comparables they are still $1000 too low (that is a lot of money for most people, including me). I don't appreciate the run around and the treatment I've been given when I wasn't even involved in the incident (the car was parked). Plus they gave me a Kia Spectra as a rental initially as my rental when I have a full size sedan. It wasn't until I complained that they upgraded me 4 days later - they are suppose to put you into a rental car that is comparable to the car you are driving, so don't let them get away with that. And ALWAYS be sure to do your research - don't let insurance companies low ball you like this. It's not only wrong, but it's boarder line illegal.

This company really sucks ass. Another vehicle pulled out in front of me on the highway and I ended up rear ending the car since it was going too slow. The other driver had Geico as well but Geico put the blame on me since it was cheaper for them to charge me instead of charging the other driver. My insurance rate actually DOUBLED after that little wreck. They gave me pennies for my old car which really upset me. I hate them, their customer service is terrible and useless too. They don't know half of the things their asking about. Stick with a different insurance like AllState or Progressive

Very poor service following my first serious accident, no local claims adjuster to speak with, poor communication, did not provide important information, should be called "Self-Service Insurance Co."

I have had GEICO for 10-years in October and have not been able to find a lower rate anywhere...granted, I am not going to go to one of those small brokers that sell cheap insurance to a company that does not have an 800# (been there, done that). GEICO provides me a good policy, they look out for you by reviewing your coverages (most people find lower rates but do not realize they are getting very low coverage). They are taking their largest rate reduction to comply with California DOI requirements a year before they are required to. And, unlike Allstate, protect my identity and personal information. My rates will go down further after August 30th! By the way, they are excellent in handling claims, much better than others I have dealt with (USAA, Farmers and Statefarm).

Been covered by them for over 5 years. Someone hit my parked car and they set me up with repairs at an autobody shop and a rental car. No problems other than paying my $500 deductible. Also, my insurance rate never went up even though I had made a claim. I have been shopping around and have only found savings of $60-$100 a year, and most of those quotes don't include GEICOs road side assistance. I though about ESURANCE, but I read some bad stuff here (their quote is about $400 a year less). Overall, GEICO has prompt curtious 24hr a day service.

I was insured with Geico for over 15 years. My son was on our policy and when he picked up a negligent operation they dropped us like a bad habit even though our record was impecaable. I truly think Geico is a bad insurance company. If they were good they wouldn't have to do so many commercials on TV for their customers would do their advertisement through word of mouth. I would recommend anybody to do business with State Farm Insurance instead.

Geico is nice until you get into an accident. Once you get into an accident and you are at fault, they will drop you off or increase your premiums.

Personally, I have dealt with geico's claim department, and it was fast, and easy. They replaced a totalled car in under 5 days. ( they replaced it with money ) I found a recent quote I got from Geico a tad high.... 2 drivers, and 2 vehicles, both from 1998, one full coverage, one liability, and gieco quotes me $2669 @ 6 mo,,,,,$505 a month. Might as well try to get State Farm insurance for that price,,, GOLLY!!!

geico customer backed into my car. The claim process was smooth and painless. I was in their recommended assesment and body shop the next day, and had a check made out to me in 20 mins for the amount of 1100, or I had the option of leaving the vehicle with them for repairs. I took the check,, thank you very much. 2 months later I switched to Geico. I had a chance to compare this process with Progressive's some time later when a progressive driver backed into my car. Geico was much much better. Period!

If your going to get auto insurance, get GEICO. They offer the best rates (on most cars) and if your with them long enough you get super discounts. Getting a policy set up was super quick and maintaing/changing your policy is super easy and can all be done online. Customer service is friendly and efficient.

I find it funny that people complain about how after they buy their policy that they are either canceled or see a rate increase due to information found diffeent reports. There are a couple reasons why this sort of thing is a ridiculus claim. 1. In most states ordering a motor vehicle report from the dmv can take days to receive - this has nothing to do with the insurance company, its the dmv that's causing a lag. 2. Other reports, such as a CLUE report, can take a number of days to recieve as well. 3. The biggest reason is that when you apply for a policy, you are asked if you've had any accidents, tickets or suspensions. When a premium is determined it is based off the information that you have provided. In addition, in your contract it states that the insurance company can at anytime charge for any accidents, tickets or suspensions found on these reports. Finally, if an insurance company believes you are too much of risk to either be insured by them or to be insured within a placeme... Read more

I called to get a quote from Geico and the quote was fabulous. So, I instantly bought this insurance and decided to let my current policy lapse. Well a few days letter I received a letter in the mail advising Geico could not insure me. Unfortunately by this time, I had let my insurance policy lapse and had to scramble and pay extra fees to get it restarted. At the time of the policy I has asked Geico if this would be my quote and if they had ran all of the necessary paperwork, well apparently they don't run any of the necessary documents at time of purchase. (Example: credit report, dmv record, and another type of underwriting Geico does). So needless to say, my policy changed and I was no longer insurable. In the meantime, they took my money and wouldn't issue a refund for over 3 weeks, even after they cancelled my policy. My experience was horrible and thankfully my current insurance company worked with me so that I didn't lose my insurance all together. If you are looking for a bet... Read more

I'm wondering if there is a 'catch' to GEICO's low rates. i am a 24-yr old female with perfect record... got a 6 month quote of $548 for very high coverage for an Infiniti G35 COUPE that I am looking to buy. This seems extremely low for that type of car. Do they skimp out on service or what.. ??

Geico: 147/mo @ 21 w/ 2 car policy Progressive: 560/mo @ 21 w/ 2 car policy StateFarm: 610/mo @ 21 w/ 2 car policy StateFarm: 490/mo @ 21 w/ 2 car policy + renters insurance for my apartment. Why the hell do you think i'm with Geico? My car was totaled not to long ago. The value was assessed at $3500.. Geico gave me $4100 after the deductible. Geico doesn't save me hundreds on my car insurance.. they save me THOUSANDS!

We recently received notice that our car insurance was canceled towards the end of October, the letter was dated December 2, 2004. When we called to ask why the insurance had been canceled when we can prove through bank statements that all payments were current and paid before the due date we were told that the payments were going to another persons account. After trying to rectify the problem for 2 days we went to GEICO offices here in Maryland and we were told that we needed to pay over $1000 to get reinstated and that they could not rectify the problem without consent from the customer that money went to. After calling 411 almost all day we managed to call the person who was getting a free ride from our payments to GEICO. And she refused to allow GEICO to give us back the money. Please note that this payments we have been making with our account number were all given to her by one of the GEICO agents. Apparently when my husband added me to the account the agent gave us a new account... Read more

I have had this insurance for 4 years. They have excellent customer service. I am a little upset because I added my teenage daughter at 16,now she is 18 and moved out of the house. They do not want to drop her from my insurance even though she doesn't drive or live with me anymore. I am shopping for new insurance now.

Their insurance does not pay when one of their insured is a fault. I know for a fact because one of their insured hit my car their lame ass excuse was their client was not a fault and refused to pay for damages to my car. You tell me who was in the wrong I was making a left turn off a two lane side street into a privet driveway my left turn signal was on geico's client passed me on left side hitting my car.

I have Toyota collora 2000 and got damanged on my front end bumper and enign hood. CEICO demanded me to use USED parts or aftermarket pars for the replacement. I asked them for writing me a statment that those used/aftermarket parts are as safe as origial factory parts. They declined writing me any statment and even they termiated my rental car insurence while I was discussing my concern with them.
