"Despite the advent of the '00s, thoroughly blunted longhairs wearing three-quarter-length T-shirts still boot around the suburbs in painted vans listening to roaring metal. Fittingly, a whole new crop of post-Dazed and Confused-era stoner rockers--Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet, and arguably the kings of them all, Queens of the Stone Age--provide a shredding contemporary score for righteous three-finger devil salutes. On Songs for the Deaf, core members bassist Nick Oliveri and singer-guitarist Josh Homme (also see Kyuss) balance pure guitar-induced carnage with more complex, though no less aggressive, speed rock that whips by so fast it creates its own breeze..." - Amazon (Add picture)

I really do like QotSA - heavy guitar, strong songs. Their sound is very 70's, but I think that works for them and not against. Their new single 'Little Sister' is absolutely fantastic as well.

An amazing rock album that shows definite maturity from Rated R. The addition of Dave Grohl on drums for this album was phenomenal. I hope that he comes in to help record QOTSA's next album

A couple of weak fillers here but more than made up for by a cracking first half dozen or so tracks. One of the few decent rock acts to emerge in the last 15 years. This is their best effort.
