A brilliant theoretician who was able to test this theories in battle. Much of modern armour doctrine still derives from this man.

Aside from Manstein, maybe the best German genral of the war. Brilliant grasp of emerging tactics and operations, able to practice what he preached better than any of the inter-war theoreticians. His understanding of armored Deep Operations still holds true today.

He was the father of the blitzkrieg and the father of mechanized warfare. His victories in France and in the Soviet Union were amazing! He was fully responsible for the encirclement of Kiev and the capture of 665,000 Soviet soldiers. He was truly a great commander!

A genius who spent most of his career fighting the entrenched mindset of his superiors. Combined force methods and tactics he described before the war, then used to breathtaking effect in Poland, France, and Russia, were later copied by every other general of armored forces in the European theater.
