For a kid prophesized to be the chosen one who would restore balance to the Force and ultimately put in motion the actions that returned unity to the galaxy, he seemed like a pretty typical pouty, self-centred teenager to me.

Anakin had all of the powers of a Jedi but he wasn't cut out to be a Jedi. That's why he turned to the Dark Side so easily. His son however was cut out to be a Jedi. Luke could not be turned to the Dark Side.
George Lucas is talented when it comes to making movies. But every so often he is full of shit. Lucas said that when Anakin was doing evil things in Episode III that he didn't realize that what he was doing was evil. That's Bullcrap! Anakin killed about twenty innocent children. If a person is a child killer, he or she will know that it is evil. The only way that a person might not know that killing is evil is if he or she is retarded. And we all know that Anakin Skywalker wasn't retarded. I give Anakin Skywalker a 3 star rating.

If they gave the role to Leonardo diCaprio or Colin Ferrell, you would have seen whiny like you wouldn't believe. Anakin is overly critical! He never listens! He just doesn't understand. It's not fair! Not only is that true for Anakin, YOU try deliveriny those lines and responding to them. He was a great JEDI in a bad situation, the question is, does he deserve sympathy?

He was a bitch and then he went bad. Seeing him crying after he killed Gunray and all those clowns didn't help his case. Even becoming Vader couldn't save him...

He's irritating in Episode I, irritating in Episode II, irritating in Episode III... then he becomes Vader and all is forgiven.

He's central to all six of the Star Wars movies, so for that I give him a three, but he definetly loses stars for the acting in Episodes 1-3. The beginning of the third episode was truly hideous acting. I rate him about the same as I do Padme, his character was necessary, but it would have been far better for them to have found someone who could have made it more believable.

Hayden Christianson is hott, yes, but the character of Anakin Skywalker, turned Darth Vader is not all that great. I mean, Anakin is a cool gu, but he's too flamboyant. Too eager. Moreso than Luke even. He always thinks he's right, and doesn't really want to listen to authority.

You've gotta give him props for being a real good fighter and becoming the ultimate movie villan Darth Vadar, but please, has anyone seen episode 2, all he does is whine and complain and flirt with Padme, we've had enough of his hormonal ways!

How is that he becomes Darth Vader, when he is so annoying and whiney?

I hope the whine factor goes down a little bit in the next movie. The kid was just a little annoying in the Phantom Menace, and in Clones he moaned and groaned through the whole thing.
