They're not real. For a primate of that size to survive they'd have to be more apparent than extremely dodgy photographs and/or video as there would need to be a sizeable population of them.

Can you imagine what we humans would do to it if we were to actually capture one (or at least have solid proof one really exists)?! Stay in the woods mate!

The long lasting popularity of this hoax explains why carny sideshows did so well for so long.

Anything is possible, but I find it unlikely Bigfoot is anything out of the ordinary. I wouldn't doubt there is hairy homeless people living in the woods that just like to mess with people. And don't u think if there was a small civilization of these creatures, the carcuss's of there dead would turn up once in awhile? And to the guy who said that there has been fossil evidence of very large primates that are now thought to be extinct...DUH. There called Neanderthals. Thats the whole basis of the mystery. The chance that a group of Neanderthal like creatures made it into the year 2006...or even 1967 for that matter without any solid evidence of there existance is very very close to impossible. The chance that a SINGLE Neanderthal like creature somehow magically...completely defying the laws of life...has made it into the year 2006 is even closer to being impossible. If there IS something super natural in the North American forest's I actually think it's a lot more likely... Read more

There are always "skeptics", (idiots, actually) and other narrow minded, know it all eggheads who readily dismiss bigfoot, et el , but there has been fossil evidence of a very large primate that is now thought t o be extinct, but may not be. Although bigfoot has been hard to prove, it does not seem to me to be totally irrationally impossible.

a nice story, and entertaining, i'll give it that. i see all of these shows on tv: "the mysteries of big foot" and "does big foot exist" but you know what? every single one of them ends the same way. some guys go out with cameras and tape all night, they see a deer or a field mouse and then they end the show with absolutley nothing being proved or disproved. i did however, learn that the classic footage of bigfoot (you know, the blurry video that everybody has seen) was in fact a hoax, and it's just a big guy in an ape suit that got 50 bucks to play along.

i was hunting in missouri one winter with my brother jay and it was around 6:00 at night and we heard this loud nose behind us so we turned around and about ten to 15 feet away stood this hairy man like thing . he was about 10 to 13 feet tall and it was like where ever we went he went . it was like he was following us to see why we where there and at night he would throw rocks at r tints and make very loud nosesand he smelld really bad like he lived in the swop . so for any one who dose not belive there is one trust me there is and for those you saw him 25 to 30 feet away do not be scared till he is 10 feet a way and throws rocks at you and follows you

My friend saw it and thats all i need to believe. He is an honest guy and no he wasnt drunk. But i had always thought it was possible anyways for Bigfoot to exist. Do you know how much forestry there is from northern Ca up to Canada that hasnt been explored by man? And people keep saying wouldn't we have found one by now? It has been found before,no ones had the balls to 'capture' it! Why would so many thousands of people, begining with the native indians long ago keep purpotrating lies and hoaxes about it? Some people are full of it,but some, like my friend are not.

According to a tv documentary I saw, it was a hoax started by a guy wearing an ape suit and had someone videotape the whole thing, if he did exist it would be cool to see him, from a safe distance of course.

I have big feet as well, so I have to say that Bigfoot is a-ok in my book. Also, I heard on the radio that in the next year Bigfoot would be hit by an 18 Wheeler on Highway 6 in Arizona, so you have to feel bad for the guy.

The guy who shot the initial picture that started the craze has admited to it as being a fake. Also, am I the only who has noticed there aren't any ape like species in North America. The whole Idea is evolutionary unsound to begin with. People will believe anything.

A hoax that has been recently clarified, not that clarification was needed by anyone with half a brain. Just seeing that bogus piece of film from the 1970s that purported to show the creature should have been enough to convince one this was a big come-on. But, of course, those countless mental retards out there in America continued to believe this crap. Typical.

Of all the things that "might be out there" he is the most boring. I don't believe any of it, but I like stories of UFO's and Nessie more than stories about Bigfoot. I just don't think Bigfoot is very interesting.

I'm not giving this a 3 because I believe it exists, but because of the tourist dollars the myth generates. In many forested areas of the Pacific Northwest, logging has all but disappeared. Bigfoot tours, "sightings", t-shirt sales, etc., offer an eco-friendly alternative industry. It's said that the famous film of '67 shows an animal with proportions/movement impossible for a human to have. Come on. I just can't buy that there could be any creature, especially of this size, with none ever discovered dead or hurt.

Though the possibility of an unconfirmed humanoid creature within such a vast area of forest exists, the current evidence seems to be inconclusive at best. I'm skeptical about the "footage" of the creature, and the concept of the Bigfood/Yeti/Whatever creature is more of a tall tale, but whether a previously undiscovered humanoid creature exists is interesting. Not too likely, but interesting.

Belief in Bigfoot, aka the Yeti, aka the Abominable Snowman, has waned over the years. There have been many hoaxes and to be perfectly honest if the scientific community actually believed or felt confident in the existence of this creature then Bigfoot would have been discovered years ago. Of course almost anything is possible. It would be cool to see if bigfoot is real or reverie.

Bigfoot is probably one of the greatest myths and hoax of all time. If these things were a real spieces, wouldn't you think we would have found some dead ones by now? If there were just one of them, how could it live for hundreds of years?
