My husband and I put this together in about a half hour, with me mostly holding the pieces in place. The directions were a bit... challenging in spots, not written as well as they could have been, but we laughed about it and just moved on. All the holes were in the right place... if you've put it together correctly, of course, and not put pieces in backwards since the directions were a bit difficult, as I've said. It seems solid enough for what we paid, and it will do the job of a changing table without a problem. There was a 'new' smell to the baskets and hamper portion, but not enough to be overwhelming, and not quite as nice as a 'new car' smell. I'm not seeing the problems people complained about - mine was in white, so maybe the manufacturing is off on the other colours, but all the pieces are made en masse - it's not like one will go through the machine wrong, after all.

The box arrived undamaged but the wood (painted black) was Scratched in several places ... So we had to purchase a wood staining pen to cover the marks. The reason we did this was because this thing took over a hour to put together. Our crib we put together In ten min. Once we got it together we were not taking it apart tosend itback. Plus since the damage to the wood was done at thefactory no telling if we went through the troubles of returning it, if we would even get a replacement that wasn't scratched. I certainly would not have paid more than 175 for this but looking around baby furniture, most of the time is really pricey for cheap materials. So with this in mind spending 150 or so on this to use it for A year or two is worth it to me. By then I can get a regular dresser or use more closet space ....

I assembled this changing table by myself(8 months prego) in about 2hrs with the help of my 5 year old, the only problem I have with it is the screws for the hamper frame were too small (reason for 4 stars), but my husband found some that fit and it is perfect, pretty sturdy. The drawers come in handy for diapering needs and I love the big hamper that is out of the way. The cherry color matched perfect with the rest of my baby's furniture and I did not notice any strong odors with mine.

I am past mad right now! If there were lower ratings I would give it. This product was horribly built. One of wood sides had the groove on the wrong side. so the platform would not fit, also it seems they gave me two wooden products the same so some holes did not match up. I had to drill the holes myself to make it work, then I encountered the groove problem, now im stuck with this horrible product that I now cannot use. I purchased all my baby stuff on Amazon and had no complaints until I got to this item WORST EVER!!! I can provide pictures for proof!

We just finished assembling this product as much as possible. Directions are poor and overall, it took two adults about 5 hours to assemble. The hamper still does not work, as the screws provided are not the right ones, so the frame for the hamper is not able to be screwed together. Since our child is due anyday now, we kept the product and are using Scotch tape to hold hamper frame together. We will probably use wood glue or have someone drill new holes for new screws (I'm not very adept at stuff like that; if you are, this product may be okay for you.) I'm glad I bought it on Amazon however, because other places sell it for $50 more.
