I stopped by Boccalone today to pick up a Salami gift box and grabbed a sandwich for lunch. The sandwich was delicious, with just a few slices of salami, provolone, sundried tomato spread, topped with a bunch of tasty greens. My only complaint was the bread, which was way soft for my taste...I was spoiled in rome by crusty italian bread, and I'd expect an Italian salumeria to at least make a half-hearted attempt at good italian bread. At $7 the price was quite reasonable for the ferry building (which features $35/lb cheese, I kid you not). Some may complain they're a little light on the meat for an italian deli, but for me it was perfect.I'll report back later on how the rest of the salami was after my dad tries it.
