Even the slow season can't erase his past greatness.

Being a St. Louis Rams fan, I hate the Seahawks but I know a good player when I see one. Sadly, Alexander broke Marshall Faulk's single season NFL TD record and he has cemented himself as one of the best RBs in the NFL. Alexander has a great vision and balance. He can break tackles and he's tough to knock over. He has that nose for the endzone. However, I feel that the Seahawks offensive line combination of Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson has helped him somewhat. Stll, that doesn't take away from his ability. But I'd like to see how he does without Hutchinson (who went to the Vikings) next season.

I'm willing to admit it. I've underrated Shaun Alexander in the past. He's currently on pace to break Priest Holmes' single season touchdown record (I doubt he will, but he is on pace currently). He will likely be this seasons rushing champion and for all practical purposes I thought he did better than Curtis Martin last season. His running style is a little akward, but he does have the ability run past defenders. Whenever he's getting hit, rather then squaring his shoulders to try to overpower tacklers he turns his shoulders and sort of scraps off of them to get an extra yard as well as sometimes outright break through. He is, in my humble opinion, a better back than even L.T., and way too underrated. My biggest problem is I don't think he's as good of a back as some of the up and coming ones, such as Larry Johnson, Steven Jackson, and Willis McGahee. UPDATE: Well, he broke the Total TDs record and tied the rushing TDs record. I'm thoroughly impressed. Oh, and while we're at it, scratch Willis McGahee off of that list of better "up and coming" backs... He did awful since he made the mistake of claiming to be the best back in football. It must be proof that there is a God and He is just! Put either Carnell Williams on that list instead, he really impressed me in the end. I'll rate him a 5 because he is a Pro Bowler and he has earned every bit of it.

Hands down one of the greatest running backs of all time, just looking at his stats for the 2005 season is enough to justify this, not to mention what he has done consistently through his career, all the way back to when he was in Alabama. Anyone who rates him poorly is obviously just jealous that he's not on their team, get over it, give the man the respect he deserves.

To anyone who thinks Alexander is not good...your wrong. He has had 1600+ yards 2 seasons in a row. 1300+ for 5 seasons. 15+ tds for 5 seasons. 20+ for 2 seasons tying a record. And broke the total TD record for TD's in a season. How can he not be good. One of 7 people to have 1800+ yards in a season. Amazing! Also how can he be a jerk. He is the nicest guy. Very down to earth great in the community and activly involved in his church. Big deal he said coachs back stabbed him. Common 1 yard to go. Of course hand it to the greatest 1 yard back of all time. 1 star????? How can you give him that rating?

Of course he gets a 5 b/c he is from the best state and played for the 1 and only Alabama Crimson Tide.He is leadin the league in rushing yards and the most TD's so yeah he is alot better than Tiki Barber though Tiki is good and had a GREAT game against the chief so they are about even though Tiki needs more carries.

a goodback who cares too much about personal stats. I feel holmgren should have kept green

After what happened Sunday, he deserves 1 star even though he's one of the top running backs in the game. But he's a selfish jerk. He finished 1 yard behind Curtis Martin for the lead in rushing yards and he said after the game that the coaches stabbed him in the back because they didn't give him in the ball and instead went with a QB sneak. What an ass. His team was trying to win a division and they thought a QB sneak was the best play at the time and all he cared about was leading the league in rushing. He would have prefered if they lost and he got the extra 2 yards he needed. I wouldn't want this jerk on my team.

All i got to saw is 5 touchdowns in 1 half vs the vikings setting the record.

Why is no one writing comments this guy is a fast runner can catch well he can breack tackles like marshall faulke just because hardly anyone who doesn'tlive in seattle doesn't like the hawks it's no reason to say the whole team sucks I mean Shaun Alexander got over 1'500 yards rushing this year he got two touchdowns not to mention a 30 yard run this guy is probably one of the best running backs of all time

Met this guy a few times when he comes to Hawaii for sportscard shows. Great person, very down-to-earth personality, nothing like your typical a$$hole-athlete-attitude. Great all-around player, should be know as one of the better RBs when he decides to hang it up. Hopefully they can get it together in Seattle.
