I've been smoking for a year and a half now. For about 3-4 months in between I smoked Marlboro Reds. I started with two packs of Gold Flake Regulars(Barf) and then moved on to Davidoff lights(Peace). The nafter about 10 packs, I moved on to Davidoff Classics. For some reason, I feel that most of the regular negative comments about the Classics are not true for the most part. I smoked these for about 8 months until no further supply of genuine packs was available. I live in India, you see, and even here, original German Davidoffs are available. Hence I don't see why people on this page complain about them being chemical-loaded and harsh and fast-burning. They're strong, no doubt, but also smooth as ever. In fact smoother than any other cigarette I've tasted here, and I should mention at this point, I've tasted Marlboro Reds(Shitty aftertaste, smoke leaves an odour rater than a pleasant smell), Marlboro Lights(Very bad mileage, almost no taste other than that of the paper), Djarum Blac... Please Note: THERE ARE 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DAVIDOFF -NAME CIGARETTES BEING SOLD, as of October 2010...1) the EXCELLENT, SMOOTH, SLIGHTLY SWEET, RICH IN TASTE AND AROMA "SUPREME VIRGINIA DAVIDOFF MAGNUM" and 2) The Terrible, Harsh-tasting, Chemical-laden, and fast and hot burning "DAVIDOFF 'CLASSIC' " ... the "Classic" being an intentionally misleading name... and the just recently produced "Magnum Classic" being intentionally and exceptionally misleading in name & packaging. Virginia Tobacco (a.k.a. Golden Leaf Tobacco) grows natively in the eastern parts of Virginia, and the eastern parts of North & South Carolina. Virginia tobacco makes for the smoothest and best tasting smoke in the world, and has additional slightly sweet taste and better aroma if it is "Flu-Cured," i.e., hung to dry & cure in buildings with NO light exposure, using a build-up & slow flow of hot air. While grown in the US, laws & agreements between tobacco growers & tobacco buyers in Britain have for 400 y... Read more

Very tasty, very smooth, and all around a great cigarette *except* it burns rather fast. They're longer than regular cigarettes but they smoke themselves as much as you do, so they'll last a bit shorter of a time than a pack of Marlboro 27s, but they're quite classy and enjoyable.

I've tried so many cigarettes out there, american, turkish, indonesian, Iranian, chinese, japanese, german etc etc. I have to say, after all that smoking, Davidoff, YSL, and Cartier are my favorite. since this is on davidoff, I'll comment on that. I'm the kind of smoker who considers smoking an enjoyment and a type of relaxation. I need a nice scenery when I smoke, u get the idea. Main reason I like Davidoffs are because they're very smooth. Sutble hints of vanilla, and doesn't hurt my throat. So, if you're the kind of smoker that likes Marlboro Reds/Turk Golds/Camel filters, or USA Gold (scum of the cig world), or if you smoke just to get a hard kick and buzz, you'll probably think these are lame and overpriced. But if you like to enjoy and taste your smoke, I highly recommend these.

These cigarettes are weak and bland with no flavor to them at all.

Just wanted to clarify, you CAN purchase them in the states, and I'm not sure if the manufacturer is German, because it says "made in Ukraine" on the pack. Bought a pack of Davidoff Classics for $4.89 at the local gas station (Florida). I'm not a hardcore smoker (1 pack every week/2 weeks, not every day). Basically I smoke for the good feel. Honestly not too impressed with these, you don't get much of a high off them, and they are kind of harsh, even more so than Camel Wides. However, they aren't the worst ones I've smoked either. I haven't tried out any of the other types yet (magnum, lights, classics, etc), will write a review for those when I try them out. I would recommend trying them, but I'm not sure I would suggest these as a regular smoke.

Flavorful but dry. Smooth but quite strong. The cigs dont betray the nice shiny red pack it comes in.

German cigarettes.  Smooth.  Got a couple from a friend hook up that got from travelling/online.  I would say these are really great but not easily found in the states unless you order online.  Its sketchy b/c I hear you get a foot long tax bill after the online cig retailers cut you a "great" deal and then rat you out.  So, I never get my own.  But, it would be nice to see these on the shelves.  Buzz worthy and great!

Davidoff Classic. I tried these after being a smoker of Marlboro Lights. These feel like nothing. There is almost no hit, and it resulted in me taking gigantic draws in order to get a hit in my throat. But I gotta tell you, for what it lacks in hit, it makes up for more than enough in flavour. These are quite interesting smokes and possess subtle flavours of vanilla. You can tell that these are made from very specialty tobacco. This is NOT for the hardcore smoker. If you prefer harder hits from your smokes, these are not something you want to go for. But heck, they are not weak. I couldn't feel the hits in my throat, but taking those giant draws gave me quite the headspin. So try and go easy on it or you will suffer a similar consequence :P Remember, smoking is a pleasure. Don't overindulge yourself to cancer.

This is a review for Davidoff Premium. They are advertised as premium cigarettes, they have a fancy packaging with the word Davidoff printed horizontally onto each cigarette but the smoke leaves much to be desired. The smoke is somewhat smooth but the flavor is weak and ordinary without much flavor, I would rate it a small step up from Marlboro also the length of the cigarette allows for a longer smoke. Nice packaging but not worth the premium price. If you want a premium cigarette I suggest trying Dunhill.

Unfortunately these cigarettes cannot be purchased in the States, however I was travelling in Central Europe and managed to sneak 4 cartons home with me becuase they are ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! I bought each carton for around $30 ($3 per pack) with the exchange rate, which is just about the same thing that I pay for Marlboro's in Illinois. The Davidoff's I bought were Gold (white and gold packaging) which is their version of lights, although my fiance prefers the darks (black with red and silver writing on the box). These are a FINE smokey-treat, very smooth flavor, body, and aroma. I would recommend Davidoff's to anyone who really considers themselves a smoker, and for those who are unwilling or unable to try these- you really have no idea what you're missing.

Perhaps the king of all cigarettes, these smokes (no matter if they are Davidoff Classic, Mint, or Virginia cut) are smooth, delicious, and classy. The boxes are elegantly designed (elegant in a non-feminine way) and practically shout that whomever owns one is a connoisseur. Next, open the box. Inside one finds a paper wrapper with Davidoff etched on, with a gold foil backing. Remove it, and a beautiful presentation of filters is unveiled. The cigarette itself is a tasteful 100mm all white cylinder. The brand is etched into the base of the cigarette in silver foil. Two colored stripes on the all-white filter denote what type of cigarette one is smoking. The smoke itself is smooth, with a hearty taste. The filters allow for a generous drag with minimal effort, and clearly the cotton wadding is healthier than the fiberglass other brands utilize. If one can find them, Davidoffs are king. Since they stopped importing to America a few years ago, they've been very difficult ... Read more
