After becoming homicidally depressed with MTV and VH1 (and the indifferent demise of locally-produced alternative music programs), I figured that was it: I'd have to resort to online testing of downloadable MP3s for anything musically meaningful. Suddenly, my cable provider pulled me out of the doldrums by adding FUSE to its line-up (to say this was the mother-load of Zoloft caches would be an understatement). Consistently breaks the new bands, plays small quantities of the current favorites, and even sees fit to wedge in many of the classic songs (from as far back as 20 years!). They're dabbling in hip-hop now (minus one "star"), but I don't see it taking over. FUSE: if you've got it, you're happy. If you haven't got it, pester the lazy yokels at your cable or satellite company until they put it on. Fans of good music should demand no less.
