 | 007Fan (0) 05/30/2008 | As far as my experience went as a visiting fan, out of respect, I wouldnt recommend anyone to visit Auburn on gameday. The tailgating was a tad bit dull and everything but exciting. There are hardly any pregame festivities, other than The Tiger Walk, which was the highlight of the day. The stadium is original and nice, but nothing spectacular. The town is small, outdated, and run down. There seemed to be no true school spirit, and the fans seem to center their thoughts, more around their chief rival than they do their own. The campus is centered around a nasty and ghettofied downtown area, which is fairly small, which also doesnt provide fans with hardly any places to view the game. And there hardly isnt anything to do, in Auburn, that isnt typical. On the eve of the game, you even wonder if a game was actually taking place in that town on the following day, in addition to that, every restaurant and store has just as many anti-Alabama paintings and such as they do Auburn. Unfortunately, Auburn is truly not a traditional college football experience, but more of like a midseason live action baseball experience. The game, itself, was exciting, and the Eagle tradition just flat out blew me away. But outside of that, Auburn is a waste of time.

 | LSUownsAU (0) 09/19/2007 | As a visitor in 2000 I wasn't overly impressed with the atmosphere. The fans are abnoxious, arrogant, and really suffer from an infuriority complex. While some hostility towards a rival should be expected, one shouldn't come as close to as many physical altercations as I did on my visit. As far as the scenery goes, Auburn has a very simple, yet charming, campus. The women, well atleast the ones with all of their teeth, tend to be quite attractive. I can honestly say that some of the finest women in all the world attend AU. The stadium itself is decent, I believe I attended after it had gone under serious renovations, but not really original. Kind of a generic feel to it. The crowd was impressive to look at, as I would guess nearly 90% were dressed in orange. The eagle is one of the dumbest traditions in all of sports, but it got the stadium louder than any other part of the evening. Too bad it was pregame. During the game the crowd isn't as loud as you would expect in a stadium of it's size.

 | brainyone (0) 07/31/2007 | I'm a huge college football fan but I'm quickly losing intrest because of peoples lack of respect for each others teams. There's nothing wrong with cheering your team on but if you have to put down the other team to do so, then you should really just shut your mouth. I've been to Jordan-Hare recently and I thought it was a nice stadium. I wouldn't say it was the best I've been to but it wasn't bad at all. The fans were just like everywhere else, some were great, some not so great.

 | SecWardamnEagle (0) 01/06/2007 | ok its true there are tons of bama fans on here bashing us and making fun of us being the tigers while having a battle cry war eagle. well bama is the crimson tide but have an elephant stomping around on their sidelines? this stadium is beautiful, just like the majority of the sec stadiums so lets just clear that up...

 | AUAlum05 (0) 07/24/2006 | To correct footballfan19, Auburn and Alabama have very similar acceptance rates, currently Alabama is planning to increase their enrolment to be the largest school in the state, and Auburn was ranked 85th to Alabama's 104th in the 2006 US News rankings.
On to the stadium. I'm biased, but I love Jordan-Hare. It's beautiful inside, with a brand new jumbotron and scoreboard for 2006. The field itself is pristine, with some of the finest turf in all of football. The concourses are newly renovated and bright (there's good sunlight), with plenty of bathrooms, concessions, and beautiful new iron gates around the stadium (no more chain-link fences). The students are loud, and the stadium sides steep. We do have plenty of chants, and a non-scholarship band that is still loud and amazing. Let's not forget Tiger's pre-game flights from the upper deck. The echoes of "It's great to be an Auburn Tiger" sound late into the night after a win, and even after a loss. This is the way college football is supposed to be.
I'll admit, LSU and Florida are louder and meaner. I'll also admit that Auburn's older alumni are not as loud as they could be. The admin has also killed tailgating in the past few years (it used to be some of the best in the SEC). However, I still love my sweet home on the Plains. And let's remember folks... Auburn does indeed have a fine agricultural and veterinary education tradition, and if you somehow were to park in the cow fields, you might get some cow patty on your tires. However, unlike parking your car in Tuscaloosa, at least your tires will still be there upon your return.
WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!

 | footballfan19 (0) 06/24/2006 | About the argument that AU has more students than Bama....the reason is it is harder to get into UA, so many people just go to AU. JH is a decent stadium.....I
will say I love how the endzone seating is very steep and tall so it traps the noise in. Other than that it is avereage. Sure it is easy to just yell but there is really no chants or anything original at AU. "War eagle hey" is the dumbest thing ever and, AU copied "glory glory" from UGA. Fans tend to be very very rude as well, Overall this stadium is mediocre....at best.

 | CaptainDawg02 (0) 08/22/2005 | Jordan-Hare...pronounced very funny for all you who aren't familiar with Auburn's weird traditions. Things are just pronounced funny in the South period...so its something you have to get used to if you are traveling in. This stadium gets 2 stars for lack of originality. It resembles too many things that others invented (hedges and Glory, Glory), not too mention their multiple mascot obsession. Yes, every Auburn fan will think you are an idiot for thinking that they have more than one mascot, but no Auburn fans...you guys are the idiots. You have a golden eagle that you have named (don't remember and don't really care) and use him in your opening games...as well as Aubie your stuffed animal tiger mascot. You scream war eagle...when your mascot is the tigers...and you don't think people outside of Auburn think that's weird? *Sigh*...get off your high horses...no one gets it, nor cares.
Ok...as a school...lets address the 88% acceptance rate that Auburn boasts. I mean come on! Make this somewhat of a competitive school to get into...that's just embarassing! 88% acceptance rate = do you have a pulse? Congratulations on a world class education in the middle of nowhere, ie. the plains.
As a visitor, you can have fun at one of the three bars in the city, and if you are fortunate to witness an Auburn win...you will get to see all the kids throw toilet paper on trees. Yes...it makes no sense...but the kids down there love it! Its good to see somewhat of a tradition that is original...too bad the environmental agencies frown on it and all the trees cry.
Just like in all stadiums and colleges, you do have rude and obnoxious fans. More so when they are on the losing end. School colors are at least a tolerant orange, so people aren't dressed ugly (ie. University of Tennessee, Clemson, Florida). They travel well to the important games as a fan base, so that's the biggest reason keeping this a 2 star rating over a 1 star rating.

 | RhodesScholar (0) 08/22/2005 | The stadium itself isn't bad. I liked some of their traditions. Before the game people weren't too bad. But after the game some people were nasty and rude for no reason. I won't be going back to the plains.

 | tech_blows (0) 08/21/2005 | leave it to people from alabama to not be able to pick a mascot. also, i've never really met anyone who was a real auburn fan. they always just went to auburn because they were too stupid to get in somewhere else. now, to the stadium. It has absolutely nothing distinguishable from other stadiums. They stole the hedges, and the city is completely forgettable. Oh yeah don't forget to toilet paper a tree. That's the way the students have a good time there. They also freaking worship some crappy street corner. majestic!

Alabama, at least we can beat yall in our own stadium. Go worship the bear like all yall do

 | jtotheg (0) 08/04/2005 | You auburn idiots that are talking about the only ones that are voting low for your crappy stadium are the bama fans, but if you look at byrant-denny the only ppl that voted low for it are the auburn fans. Anyways here is my rant...
Ok so I did manage to go to jordan hare stadium one time and that was one time too many. I actually stepped in a cow patty walking to it. When I got inside the stadium I realized it was actually a decent view with the livestock on the field. Then I realized those were your cheerleaders grazing. It does get loud I'll give you that, but your home record is dismal to say the least. You have gotten stomped by that likes of usc, bama, lsu, you pretty much name it, they have beaten you...bad. Anyways you auburn fans need to get off this obsession with bama. You are and will always be the state of alabama's second best team, and the university of alabama's little brother.

 | Jmantyger (0) 07/08/2005 | It is humorous to read spuat (scandal plagued university of alabama at tuscaloosa) fans run down Jordan Hare stadium. They accuse AU fans of being obsessed with spuat, but who do we find on a thread about AUBURN's stadium? Obsess much?

 | Jimmie (2) 05/01/2005 | Auburn has one genuine claim to fame. Without a doubt it is the world's biggest high school. Auburn fans have never defined themselves by anything other that what happens to Alabama. I remember the first time I ever visited Auburn (that was back in 1966). The first thing we saw (or rather smelled) that indicated where we were was the Auburn Swine Research Facility.

 | excelsior30 (8) 04/14/2004 | I can agree with Stringmusic24 as this is a great campus to be in. The aerial view found on worldstadiums.com is outrageous, but it is miles away from popularity as Notre Dame Stadium is considered the best by MSNBC.
