Anderson is a light of hope in the world of information - he is the one newsperson I trust to tell me the truth and to find the facts and not just his own opinion - I trust him and admire his dedication and professionalism

I guess when he is around it is best not to wear your underwear backwards, remain seated and keep your mouth shut!

anderson is super cool; fabulous to watch and hear ; great looking guy ; suave and debonair. seems to be a nice guy to boot. Go Anderson !
earner 07/09/2007
Happy talker in a hip suit. Doesn't know a toss about global affairs. Can't stand his action-man type reporting whihc leaves me with a sinking feeling in my stomach.
windchime 05/17/2007
Looks like a rodent in a Paris Hilton sort of way. Can't be bothered w/this one.

What's with his breathing problem? Someone get him an oxygen tank.

He is professional, what does it matter if he is gay or not?
Krinda 08/29/2006
He THRIVES on newscasting. So he's a dynamo to watch, and listen to.
minicooperlol1 03/11/2006
Anderson cooper is soooooooooo hot!! and not just cause he's sexy, but cause he has a heart and wants to help people worse off than him!! i mean, come on!! his mom is gloria vanderbilt and he went to New Orleans and saved people during Katrina!!!! Gosh!!!!
mjmoore 02/17/2006
I just dislike his speech delivery. Too fast, stutteringly not undertandable...if there's such a combination. Sit him down somewhere. Ok a sit down talk show. He 's not real...exploitative, especially of Katrina..Neggan and others see this in him. .... Talk show or writer. mj moore

CNN used to offer real news. They've gone the way of Fox and the tabloids with AC(DC?). So disappointing. I guess it gets ratings, but we, who represent a desirable demographic according to what I read, tune out at this house. We've depended for years on CNN to offer news while sensationalism predominated elsewhere. No more. My husband has been devoted to CNN for years, but that's gone. The primary reason is Anderson Cooper, who has supplanted news with "I gotcha" interviews, melodramatics, and anything sensational. Send him to Fox, where he belongs.
sunstorm1001 01/08/2006
The best, news reporting with feeling, you can on occaison see his heart on his news-sleeve. Like when he ripped Sen Landrieu a new one for patting herself and other politicians on the back when people were still sitting on roofs begging for help and rats were eating the dead still lying in the streets in New Orleans! Or his mine disaster reporting or the great tsunami reporting he did last year. Sometimes I think we think news reporters should be so out of touch with reality that they can cover disaster after disaster after disaster back to back and not reflect on what they have seen, well, he reflects, it is obvious that he has a heart and finally it broke in New Orleans. Frankly, I am glad he went after Landrieu because for the past couple of years the news media has been too content to sit on their collective butts and NOT question in any way the crap that the Prez and Congress have been getting away with. Maybe AC is just what the other reporters needed to get them off their lazy butts and asking the right questions to make the people who represent US fully answer them or we can then see the true politician and vote the suckers out of office! 20 stars for Anderson if I could!

Anderson Just great reporting at the Mine Rescue 1/3/06 You deserve 7 stars. Norm Bouma Grand Rapids, Mi.

Mr. Rateitalltag, I'm not surprised to see that practice occurs on the internet. Anyway, I've learned to see right through it, doesn't work anymore, I just read the negative reviews and negative opinions and trust my gut. I don't like the trend CNN is taking in focusing tremendous amounts of attention on Anderson Cooper, Sanjay Gupta, Miles and Soledad O'Brien on with him in the morning. CNN is getting too smugly yuppie-ish for me. If they thought their ratings were bad now, they should see what'll happen in the future. This is not the answer, firing dignified newsmen like Aaron Brown for trendies like Anderson. Not sure I can take this channel seriously...thank god for MSNBC and the internet...CNN, you can keep your "postmodern", "business casual", "whatever yuppie catchphrase you've got now" programming, I'm going to look for real news...BTW, I'm a late-night owl, and I used to remember watching Anderson Cooper on late-night, early morning news shows on...CBS? To be honest, he has real talent as a TV personality, but he's not worthy of becoming the face of CNN. This is just not a good direction for him. Anderson needs to host a reality TV show, talk show, or better yet, compete with O'Reilly on the 8:00 timeslot that CNN is clueless on. Anderson could really do some damage there with a talk-based show...I freaking hate Paula Zahn...oh sorry Coop, I'll give you a few more stars...I misjudged ya...
Underspin 12/18/2005
Lately CNN has been trying to market Cooper's image as a cutting-edge journalist/future anchor and veritable sex symbol to boot. IMO, it's all quite laughable really. He's just another derivitive, non-distinct yuppie whose handlers think looks good in a suit - fine - but the problem is, it's empty...Pass the remote.
rosephile 12/18/2005
A lot of posters here seem to not know much of anything about Anderson Cooper. He's a wonderful journalist--not one to sit by and report urgent news from the desk, he goes to the war/natural disaster/crisis and shows the viewers the real story behind it all. He always tries to show multiple points of view on every topic, while nearly always successful at hiding his own beliefs, the one noteable exception being when he expressed anger and disbelief at the lack of governmental response to areas affected by hurricane Katrina. With Anderson, you know you can trust what he's saying. He also writes a lot of his stories, unlike many anchors, who rely heavily on writers, and occasionally contributes articles to Details magazine. He did not get to where he is because of Gloria Vanderbilt--he started off, unable to land an entry-level job at ABC, going by himself to war-torn regions of the world, writing, filming, and editing his own reports and selling them to Channel 1 (a news broadcast in some middle and high schools). ABC News eventually hired him because of his work for Channel 1. He did The Mole for a year because he was unsatisfied with ABC News, and then wanted to go back to reporting after 9-11, and CNN then hired him. Anderson Cooper is intelligent (went to Yale, did well in the Jeopardy! he won, for example), charismatic, has a great sense of humor, is humble, self-deprecating, honest, straightforward, compassionate, good at what he does, and yes, also happens to be damn sexy to boot. Oh, and he's 38, by the way.

People like Anderson Cooper make you realize that this site should have a ZERO stars option. I used to work at a PR firm at which my job was to train people to write positive reviews wherever possible on the Internet for whatever or whomever we were promoting at the time - Andersin Cooper was one of the things we trained people to promote, and I can se some of my handiwork here. The truth is this Albino brat is only on TV because he is Gloria Vanderbilt's son (for the clueless out there, the Vanderbilts are a famous family of Gazillionaires). He looks like a cross between the infamous murderer Richard Speck and the 'Snow Miser' character from the classic Rankin & Bass Christmas special 'The Year Without A Santa Claus'. The white haired, 40-something Mr. Cooper seems preoccupied with selling himself as 'young and hip', sometimes to a nauseating degree. In one recent broadcast, he in all seriousness tried to suggest he was a twenty-something by declaring he could 'retire before 30' if he had thought of some gadget CNN was reporting about first. Suffice it to say, it's a good 15 years too late for Mr. Cooper to retire before by 30. On another broadcast, he made sure he was seen rocking his head approvingly to the overproduced sounds of the tattooed Boy Band "Good Charlotte" , who were a guest on his show, in a pathetic attempt to indicate how 'hip to the current scene' he was. What a sad, sad, sad, ass.

Intelligent, compassionate, witty, incredibly handsome and sexy, a great dresser and someone who comes from a priviledge background but is doing something constructive with his life--unlike Paris Hilton. Anderson's awesome.
mikeholly93 10/06/2005
Jerk! He talks about the same boring stuff over and over again.
X Factor Z 10/04/2005
Very warm, professianal, informative and charming.
jstann 09/24/2005
He seems to REALLY love being a journalist. It shows in his work. He seems eager to cover ALL of the most important stories even the most dangerous ones such as the recent hurricanes along the gulf coast. He also seems very genuine unlike alot of the other anchors out there.

Andeson Coopper rocks!
Ditslouise 09/01/2005
Way to go, Anderson Cooper. You told the Senator just what she needed to hear and while we've always admired you, we now think you're great. While you're there watching people suffer and even die, we don't need politicians spewing platitudes. We need ACTION. Thank you for making that point! Diane Wright Westminster, CO
Mr.Bud 08/11/2005
Anderson Cooper is the most sincere, intelligent, and respectable American newsman today. While the other guys fix their hair, sit behind the desk and try to look genuine, Cooper is out there in Iraq, Africa, and wherever else getting right to the story and making you feel. A true crusading correspondent, this guy definitely America's next great journalist. Oh, and to all you scared, despicable homophobes: It's great that you can give this guy one star and insult his sexuality because obviously you've accomplished so much more in your lives...
maria zeila 04/07/2005
i admire how he shows compassion on what he does. He's very professional yet you feel as though you can reach up to him. He shows his vulnerability openly (talking bout his pictures shown on TV during his visit to Banda Aceh and to the Vatican where he was crying). I think it takes a real man to show people his true emotions..and please!..i don't think he's homosexual!
karbear 03/30/2005
He's great..always in the middle of the tough stuff...great interviewer and smart as a whip. Bummed he's gay, but in a way it makes him that much more controversial!
tywebb661e 03/25/2005
Anderson Cooper takes it in the pooper!
kirstie1 02/26/2005
He is too cute! Total bummer that he is gay, but it figures. Not many straight men that dress that well. Is he really dating Carson Kressley?
singsplatsing 02/20/2005
He's VERY handsome and smart, though something about his personality puts me off a bit.
noskcaj 11/21/2004
Smart guy, strong interviewer. Much better than I thought his show would be.
RaterX 11/20/2004
PROS: Looks that could turn a straight man gay. CONS: Liberal and totally self-absorbed like Stone Phillips. He hasn't received the memo that the Sun is at the center of the universe.
SakeBomb 10/15/2004
Anderson Cooper is a bad ass. He was one of the few journalists to go into harms way in Rwanda and report on the genocide in 1994. He always volunteered for the toughest assignments on Channel 1 ten years ago. He was the first to bring to my attention the unprotected nuclear facilities in the formal Soviet Union. He has certainly earned his stripes.
outofmywindow 09/16/2004
A great newscaster, he really seems to love what he is doing. He comes off as engaged in his subject matter has a perceptiveness that a lot of his peer group seems to lack completely. I hope he has a long career with CNN.
fluffytuffy 09/13/2004
He is cute and a breath of fresh air on these 24/7 news channels! I am a bit older than the demographics they are trying to reach in his 360 show, but enjoy every witty remark and story fully. He is so funny and has such a good show, while channel surfing the other day, came across Shep on FOX News, and realized how I had forgotten he even existed since the debut of 360! May Anderson have many years of success with CNN.
truthordare 08/25/2004

Okay, Anderson Cooper is good looking. But don't yall think bill hemmer is hot!? There's a sexy anchor for ya.
abouttowne1 08/16/2004
Anderson brings us the world with class and truthfulness. He brings us a sense of urgency when appropriate and a bit of humor. He is fresh and my favorite anchor!
feedee 08/15/2004
Anderson is brilliant, hilarious, self-deprecating, seems a little sad and shy sometimes, modest, gorgeous, yet not perfect (he trips over his words a lot) a paradox.
leon_phelps 08/12/2004
What I don't understand is how this guy went from the 3am graveyard shift on network news to CNN. I remember flipping through channels one drunk night and hearing him argue with his co-anchor It's not like anything we say matters a whole lot, nobody's watching this report anyway.
clpcharnock 08/11/2004
how did david koresh miss this guy ?
iLIKEthat! 08/05/2004
Anderson is one of my very favorite CNN newcasters. I absolutely love his show and always try to watch it! I LOVE him! His show is also very unique and interesting and funny, and is my favorite CNN show!
maxfactor 07/31/2004
Android-like.
SDtoNYC 07/27/2004
A great contrast to other news anchors on CNN. He is mild-mannered and serious when he needs to be. But he can also be casual and off-the-cuff too. I've enjoyed him ever since his late night days at ABC World News Now. He delivers the news in a confident, unbiased way conveying intelligence and a deep understanding of world events. He deserves a higher profile on the sinking CNN network. On a network that has been taken over by cheap, shallow news people, Anderson Cooper is a star.
early69 07/21/2004
He belongs somewhere other than a news desk.
newshack 07/14/2004
fumbles and mumbles. period.
LoudKidB 07/06/2004
Easy to listen to, and has the flexibility to be a serious anchor, while he can also be a funny one. Heir Apparent to CNN's top anchor spot.
