I had many questions i could not get answered ,one of them was why our loving God would be so unhappy with Cain's offering to him but so accepting of Abel's, seems to me a farmer [tiller of the earth] would work much harder to present his offering than a man who herds sheep ect. Pastor Murray gave me the answer,it was because Cain was the son of satan.

Pastor Arnold Murray teaches the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse. He is a true Bible scholar. He is an expert on the Bible- both the Old Testament and New Testament. He is a shining light. Things that didn't make sense, make sense. And he has a great sense of humor. He helps the student really know the living God and the Truth and His promises for anyone who loves Him. Arnold Murray is a blessing!

The only one on television, not only telling the truth, and teaching line by line, precept on precept, book by book. He'll also spend time answering any question you can throw at him.

I sat in a rapture teaching church for many years with my friend and her family. When I was 14 years old, I asked my dad about the rapture and he directed me to Shepherd's Chapel. It's one of the best things my dad ever did for me. My eyes were opened to the truth and once the doors of truth were opened, no man has been able to shut them! I asked God when I was a kid to help me understand His Word and now thanks to Arnold Murray, I understand so much. I also asked God to send me a man who shared the same beliefs as me, and low and behold, he sent me a husband that just happened to study with Shepherd's Chapel as well. God is definitely leading, guiding and directing me and my family!

I especially love the Q/A segment of the show. If I have a question that's weighing on my mind, I don't have to ask it in a letter, everytime I tune in, my questions are anwered. I know God sent Arnold Murray to help us keep our head above the sea of lies we face everyday. I love Arnold Murray and will continue to study with his ministry!

If you really want to learn about the Bible in a way that inspires you moment by moment he is your man. You don't have to agree with him as he will say, but he gives you the tools to find the answers. Not the most well loved by other TV Preachers since he does not beg for money from the poor or anyone for that matter. Pastor Murray is more of a teacher and brings the Bible to life for those who want answers in plain down home American English. Give him a chance and you will be glad you did.

I have studied with the Chapel for nearly 15 years and thank our Father for leading me to his ministry.
At first I had doubts about some of his teachings and would call in questions which he would answer. He always says to check out him or any teacher...Well,I did so. I not only checked in the King James and the Strongs,I cross checked with other references.
I have not agreed 100% with him but he is by far more correct than any church I have attented.
He is very highly rated on here because he feeds his flock.
Alot of pastors feel threatened because he does not pass a plate in church,does not beg,and yet his ministry has grown by leaps and bounds.Quit begging,teach chapter by chapter,verse by verse and your ministry might grow.
I could care less what Mr Murray did in the 50's,or that he pulled a gun on someone interrupting his bible study.No charges were filed because he had every right to do what he did.
If you dont like Mr Murray,keep going to your plate passer and having milk.I choose stay in the meat of Gods Word.

I have listened and studied with Pastor Murray since 1990. Initially being raised in the Lutheran church I was offended and my initial goal was to prove him wrong, scripturaly, as he presented ideas in the scripture that were never covered. Too make a 19 year story short... factually accurate, Hebrew checks out as does his intrupretation of the Greek, yet there are often several meanings often given for a single word.
My biggest disagreement is with his view on the 1000 year reign of Yahshua(Jesus) here on the earth... we may fight over that in boot camp.
He opens the door to a BIGGER picture of life... 1st world age, Gen.1:1 The Fall / Re-Creation Gen.1:2 and the redemption, restoration & battle for the Kingdom. Take it personally... Satan

I have studied the bible all of my life and have been decieved by many doctrines, denominations and pastors. Most preachers today want to tell feel-good stories about their "aunt Margaret", or try to be stand-up comedians. And If they can entertain you, maybe you will keep coming back. Rarely can you find a church that preaches straight from the bible. Murray is a diamond in the rough!!! He doesn't make his living off of church tithes and he isn't a slave to the tax-exempt status. Neither is he ruled by a "church board" of elders who can vote him out when he says something they disagree with. Kudos to Murray for not preaching the "prosperity" message of most (the more money you give, the more God will bless you). He isn't trying to erect fancy buildings, colleges, or extravagent church "wings". He hasn't fallen prey to the silly "rapture" doctrine, the so-called SECRET coming of Christ (Revelation clearly describes how the second coming occurs and it will be in the clouds for ALL to see). The bible is clear that Christ comes back a second time... but not a third! Yes, there are false prophets among us - just check out your average church! May God continue to bless Arnold Murray and "let the chips fall where they may!"

Fear God is the beginning of Wisdom. If a person does not make it to heaven, there is no annihilation of the soul in hell, it will live in torment forever. The Bible says that the fires of hell is everlasting (Mt 18:8, 25:41, 25:46, 2Th 1:9). The definition of everlasting (Greek - aionios), means perpetual, eternal, for ever, everlasting.

Jesus came to save us from the fires of hell and damnation. Hell was meant for Satan and his angels and anyone that wants to join them.

i have been more skeptical than anyone about "televangelist" over the years but i find no fault w/arnold murray nor dennis. they are actually a breath of fresh air. they dont ever ask for money and they teach strictly verse by verse from the word. i have read many comments on-line trashing them both and its all trash.

I hear he's not doing so well after his dance studios flopped.

What's wrong with us? We are asked to rate a man who is lead by God to read God's Word to this sinful world. Think about it...could you? Or better yet, would you do it? How many people do you think picked up their Bible after hearing Arnold Murray on TV? Or maybe stopped trying to kill themselves because God had Mr. Murray read a verse that made the person stop before it was too late.

We think we are so smart...so self-sufficient. Our culture is so worldly that we rarely sense our need for God. Look what is going on around you. We are proud, indifferent, carnal, selfish, unforgiving, negative, and just plain angry. God is able to change us from the inside out, yet we turn away from men like Mr. Murray who sits and reads our Bible to this thankless world.

Hats off to anyone who is lead by God to help us through our tough times we are having. Stop being so faithless and open up your hearts because the time of grace is almost over. Listen to the news...we are in the end times. Think about it, everyone is only a heartbeat away from standing in front of God.

To the people  that  don't believe what really happened in the garden  with Adam and Eve and the Serpent, i was just like you at one time, i did not believe it either because  I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT  the eating of a literal fruit , story too, and that's all i ever believed  until i did learn the truth from  God's word through the Shepherd's Chapel.  if all you folks that think he is a fase teacher would just listen to his teachings for more than just a few minutes you would see that it is God's truth he teaches, you cannot listen for maybe one lesson and  then judge him as teaching f alsehood! and you have to understand how it really was in the beginning to be able to understand how it will end in Rev. If  you will notice God told Adam and Eve - neither shall ye touch the tree of knowledge of good and evil, here that word touch ( nagah) means in euphemism- to lie with a woman, the origional word food (maakal) comes from the same root meaning as the word EAT and in GEN.3:6 these 2 words are interwoven together to hide, yet reveal the mystery of the act that brought about the origional sin. EAT in hebrew is lay, strong's concordance 398 Akal(lit. or fig.) now the word fruit may be used lit. or fig., strong's concordance 6529 periy, from 6509 fruit(lit. or fig.) read in Deut. 28:4, Psalm 127:3, Proverbs 18:20, Luke 1:42,hence the word fruit does not always refer to a literal fruit .when Eve went into labor and had Cain, the bible says she again bare Abel, the word (again) here  means she continued in labor, so they were twins, but not identical twins, they had different fathers., so they were fraternal twins. Notice Adam and Eve did not sew leaves  and cover their mouths with them, they covered their private parts, because that's what they sinned with.  This is why  Jesus  did state in Matt. LEARN THE PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE. Now Eve said the serpent beguiled her, in the greek dictionary this means expoteo-- to be holy seduced. In 2nd Corithians, where Paul talks about wanting to present  us  as a  virgin to Christ at His coming,( spiritually speaking) ,  (broken down)- i am afraid you are going to lose your virginity as Eve did who was holy seduced by the serpent. read in Gen. 5.of  Adam's decendants, - Cain is not  listed there ,because he was not Adam's son, Abel is not listed either because he died and had no offspring.  Now read in Gen.4, 17-21, you will read of Cain's decendants.These are all the decendants of old Satan himself called the kenites! The kenites are the ones who when the time came for Jesus to die on the cross, screamed, CRUCIFY HIM!!( CHRIST) also someone i believe it was LITTLE SHIBEAR, sais that Pastor Murray doesn't believe in the HOLY TRINITY, for heavens sake! He reads the word chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Don't be deceived by satan.

It is great to read through the Word verse by verse, as Pastor Murray does, however we must search and study to "show ourselves approved until God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth".  Pastor Murray sometimes puts a twist on the Word that is of his own opinion.  For example, when reading about the fall of Jericho he mentions that Rahab was not a prostitute (as the Word says), but was obviously a seller of linen, because she had so much flax on her roof.  I researched Rahab; she is mentioned four times in the Bible, and EACH time the Word says she was a prostitute. God's Word makes it very clear indeed.  Why would Pastor Murray have such a problem with this?  Could it be bacause she is in the same geneology as Jesus Christ Himself?

Pastor Murray,teaches a very simple Expository style of teaching,and Ive never heard him say anything,such as his detractors are saying.He breaks down the Bread of life and makes it easy for us to eat.And teaches the Milk of the word as well as its Meat.

About half of what he says sounds like he made it up just to suit himself. Example: the 8th day creation, Eve having sex with the devil. He is way too far out for me..

Some of Arnold Murray's views are "way out there." Some things he says make sense. You have to already have a good knowledge of the Word, because some of what A. Murray and D. Murray say is P.I. (private interpretation, IIPeter 1:20). You know it's P.I. when they say, "I think," "in my opinion," etc. Sometimes they don't give you these kinds of cues. Just be careful and be sure to check everything like the Bereans of Acts 17:11 who searched the scriptures daily whether those things they were taught were "so." I like Dennis Murray's teachings on Judges, I & IISamuel & IIKings and I & IIChronicles. Few televised preachers attempt to teach on these as deeply as he does.

Start with the fact that everyone is wrong sometimes; you,me, and Arnold.See if you can find out where "Dr." Murray went to school...no really,try to find out! Just call and ask!- OK,you don't have to go to school to understand God's word; just don't lie about your education(or anything for that matter).You do however, need an education to understand Greek,Hebrew,and Aramaic manuscripts.(where ARE the manuscripts by the way? can we see them?...not important)While you're on the phone, you may as well ask about their financial records...just kidding. They will hang up on you before it gets that far. Check the word in Thess. meaning "caught up",(rapture theory) and compare it to the word used to describe what happend to Phillip after he baptised the Etheopian. Hmmm....You will have to use your "strongs" like Arnold tells you, because any manuscripts left, are VERY HARD TO GET YOUR HANDS ON. That should be enough to get you started. Look especially at his serpent seed theory?,eighth day creation? The key will be to pray for understanding. Some things we may not know until we get to heaven. (there's another one to check out,his heaven theory)Better yet, just ask GOD to show you which pastor you should listen to. It won't be Arnold,or Dennis, or anyone from SC. Don't just blindly follow someone because they SOUND like they know what they are talking about, or talk down to you ,and try to make you think that you don't. Paul needed no man to teach him.

I have learned so many amazing things that I have never heard in all the churches I have been in.

I am amazed by how much is in the Bible in plain English (King James Version):

What happens to you when you die.
Why we are here.
What father wants of us.
What will happen.
What we are to do.
What the only unforgivable sin is.
How to command the enemy.
The problem when you clean a house and leave it empty by not putting something (Jesus) in there.
Examples of how to live, eat, treat others etc.
Why so many churches are the way they are.
That not everyone is to know and understand.
Why some people are just evil.
Satan's attempts to foil Father's plan of salvation.
How Satan was good at one time and what happened.
Why many do not want to even talk about the Bible.
The many places that Father opens his heart and tells us how he is hurt by the things we do.

And so much more.

When I was younger I tried to read the Bible and just couldn't understand it no matter how many times I tried.

One day I prayed to Father in Jesus's name to help me learn and understand so that I could help others, and now it is like reading a book.

I am thankful that I was led to the Shepherd's Chapel on tv and learn much from the pastors. I thank God that he has given me reason to see the truth. The Shepherd's Chapel teaches the truth.

I do use the Strongs Concordance, etc. to help me understand what the Word of God is truly saying. Studying the Bible is one of my favorite things to do. This is why I enjoy listening to the program.

I am glad that Arnold Murray gets so many people interested in the Bible but many of his teachings are not in the Bible. First of all... the Bible teaches that Death came into the world because of Adams sin. But Arnold Murray teaches that all the dinosaurs died in the previous earth age (before Adam sinned). He teaches that the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil is actually Satan. That when God says not to eat of the tree he really is saying "don't have sex with him". So if you take that and apply it to the whole chapter what you get is God setting up a giant orgy saying you can have sex with all these trees in the garden but not with that guy in the middle. Or else he means trees like the Bible says and there is nothing about sex with Satan or Kenites in the Bible. AM teaches that God made the races on the sixth day and Adam and Eve on the 8th day. The bible says God finished all creation and rested on the 7th. If there were other women and men when Adam searched for a helper he would have found one. If there were other men and women the Bible would not say that Eve is the mother of all living. The Bible also says that God choose to make all the nations of one blood. There are many many other ridiculos teachings that I just can not get into.

I have watched ministers, priests, pasttor's etc.. ,however, I never really learned anything about the BIBLE until I woke up at 5 M one morning ,and found Arnold Murray. Anyone who says negative things about him OBVIOUSLY has not watched his program for a length of time or they would realize how wonderful, and knowlegable he is. God Bless Him !

Where do you rate forums around here? The forums that claim to follow the teachings of SC, leave a lot to be desired. The operative word here is " claim".   PM has said more then once that one should not trust all the  " experts "  in chatrooms ( and no doubt, forums ) They have not read in the New Testament that God is not a respecter of persons, have they? They have little cliques, are paranoid, thus eliminating honest questions and new people ( always thinking new people are people with multiple IDs ) focus on news events and prophesy without sheding much light. ( a great deal of heat but little light; mostly speculation ) It seems that their " love " is most often " tough love"  when God clearly says that he desires mercy not burnt offerings.  Apostle Paul say charity/love is the greatest, and covers a multitude of sins. Always trust Christ Jesus. Reading a prayer request from a " regular ", she was complaining about all her troubles and another answered that it was tough being one of the elect. Think about what you write, regulars. Are you really a christian or a play actor? And the moderators, most are power crazy, puffed up within themselves. I fear you are driving away many instead of leading them to God. or is your aim to make a name for yourself and the heck with anyone else? As for SC and PM, he has said more then once that his aim is to drive people into the Bible to check out whether he is on target; accurate in the word of God or not.That's what I'm doing, reading thru the Companion Bible, instead of in chat rooms and forums. If one is a " regular " on a forum, do thy have to pray and study the word of God.??? Very sad, they delude themselves.

I have seen so many outright lies about Arnold Murray. I don't see how anyone who watches him can think he is a cult figure. He does not send pledge cards or letters asking for money and he doesn't pass the plate on air either. He just teaches the Bible verse by verse which points to Jesus Christ as Saviour. Some of these critics just repeat false claims which is most un-christian.

For everyone that thinks so negative about Pastor Murray, listen just a few lessons and see how he teaches what is going on in this world at this time, from the Bible. Before you judge research and who knows you may be the wiser. CR

I  commented on Les  Feldick today, and put his in  the same class as J Vernon McGee , (ttb.org), Bob George (realanswers.net)  and I  would  also have to put  Pastor Murray here also, at least with respect to the no-nonsense "rubber meets  the road " teaching style.

Some things Pastor Murray says are waaaay out there, ie rib in Adam's rib meaning DNA, Elijah being carried out by a UFO, as well as his  insistence on there being three seperate earth ages... Still, I  love  his Q & A segments and watch him  often.

Arnold Murray is an excellent Bible teacher and speaker. I believe he is a true man of God and he has helped me understand difficult passages and answered questions that few other ministers could. God Bless and strengthen him. If you have a problem with his interpretation it may be that you identify with it and need to go to God in prayer.

Originally this was to one user but as I read I saw many people had the same issues so... I love how so many people say "he's wrong" but never give examples and then show what's right. If you are a Christian you want to inform not just run off at the mouth... Also, to those who say he does ask for tithes, you know when I first started watching him I wondered since he talks against money can I tithe or give offerings and the message at the end of the program let me know yes I can. I really feel pressured (NOT) when someone quickly mentions that I can tithe to a church rather than spending the majority of the time talking about money like it is their god... I have seen people like you all before and may have almost been that way, you need to come to God's word with an open mind and heart and stop acting like you Know everything so you can learn, otherwise you make yourself useless to the Father. Moreover, others that study the Greek and Hebrew, let's see how many of them beg for money to support THEIR church and use "scripture" to bully naive followers into giving. Also, milk = a new Christian being given bits of truth, not to be overloaded. Meat = the full word of God. Maybe you all have low mental energy You must be starving...eat something please! :( learning GOD's word is the thing that changes lives, most pastor teach a warped self-serving version, which isn't God's word. I say if he's so bad why doe4s time with him help people get up on their own spiritual two feet and start getting interested in God's word? God created all the fleshes and said it was good but he didn't ordain every preacher and as many can see it is BAD. Go pastor Murray!!! and anyone who makes themselves that useful to our Father and does things more like the apostles, uses God's WISDOM to get his own money to live off and work with God's children to keep the word coming out. LISTEN good and do some work for yourselves, see if Arnold's "false" teaching really messes up your life, it won't. Peace out dry bones T_T

He tries to sound like he knows what he is talking about.

Hes by far the best bible teacher Ive learned from and he doesnt take ignorance. He tells it like it is as GODS word should be taught and should never be apologized for. If GODS word offends some people then to those that it offends it should. Arnold Murray is one of the best teachers hands down.

Arnold Murray is definitely NOT a false teacher. I have been listening to him for seven years now. I can discuss the bible in great detail with others, something I was unable to do from sitting in a regular church for years! I have researched the claims against him and have kept them in the back of my mind as I listen to him. I have never found anything that is posted out there that is negative to be true. He's awesome!

Dr Murray bases his study on concepts that any truth-seeking Bible student should appreciate and use, even if they don't watch this show:

That is, to translate the original meaning of the texts using a King James Bible (original English-based version), and a Concordance (and possibly a Lexicon), to understand the most accurate meanings of any passages you are interested in.

Another priority is to read the Bible through, not just a verse here and a verse there, and to pay attention to the context behind any select passages, to understand the full meaning of them.

MAY WE TALK ABOUT MORE IMPORTANT TOPICS ! I HAVE BEEN STUDYING WITH PASTOR MURRAY FOR A WHILE NOW AND WOULD LOVE TO SHARE INFORMATION SOME OF YOU HAVE THAT I MIGHT NOT HAVE. FIRST QUESTION, DOES ANYONE KNOW FROM DETAILED STUDY HOW FAR WE ARE INTO THE SEALS?. SECOND QUESTION, I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE THAT HAS A STRONG RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FATHER HAS BEEN HAVING A FEELING OF SOMETHING BIG IS GOING TO BE HAPPENING SOON AND ALMOST A WARNING AS OUR WONDERFUL FATHER HAS WARNED BEFORE LIKE IN THE SCRIPTURE? MY LIFE AND MY FAMILIES LIVES HAVE BEEN MAKING SOME HUGE CHANGES WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, AS IF WE WERE PREPAIRING FOR SOMETHING WE DONT YET KNOW ABOUT. Pastor Murray is THE BEST BIBLE TEACHER I've ever heard in my
life ! Wonderfull. My life was CHANGED !

For anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear, this spirit-filled man is the one to watch and listen to. He goes through the Bible verse by verse, making the Bible very easy to understand. I thank God for a blessed teacher like Pastor Murray. He tells it like it is. He is not afraid to tell the truth as it is written in God's letter to us. The Shepherd's Chapel is my church. Praise God.

Sounds as if G-940 is a little quick to throw stones, perhaps you forget "judge not lest ye also be judged!" Appears to be criticism without adequate facts. Have you considered inheritances, or other viable assets held by Pastor Murray, independent of his ministry? He certainly has opened the eyes of my family to scripture we thought we knew for the last fifty plus years. Has a powerful base of books to work from.........We're very thankful for his ministry!

I love to listen to Pastor Murray, or Dennis, they help you understand what the verses mean. The only thing I can say is I'm confused onwheather he beleives in speaking in tounges and I don't mean just to translate to someone. I'm taling about when you get filled with the Holy Spirit and start speking in tounges ( I don't think he beleives in that ). If he don't thats one thing that I have to diagree with him on that because I know speaking in tounges is real, they may be some people out there that are fakes, but I know for a fact there are some people that gets filled with the Holy Spirit and starts speaking in tounges, some times there is someone that will translate and sometimes there's not. Anyway I like his method of teaching and there may be times that someone don't think that he is right in what he is saying and others do. Like me I like him and love to listen to him but EVERYONE has there on opinions that how God made us and we all need to just do our very very best to do what is right. I have two statements that I like and I would like to share them. No.1 is: Be a donor and give your heart to God and No.2 is: If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing, but, if you meet JESUS CHRIST and forget him, YOU HAVE LOST EVERYTHING.
