Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series 5

Undeniably one of the finest accomplishments in post-season play. Larsen pitched a tremendous game, throwing under a hundred pitches for the perfecto.

Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series 1

If it were Whitey Ford, it would have been big. As it was, it was a mediocre pitcher getting lucky. This one doesn't belong on the list!

Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series 5

Given the stage & the fact that we're not talking about a pitcher anywhere near Hall of Fame caliber makes this accomplishment very special indeed.

Robert W. Pelton's comments shows that he was there and that is enviable! I heard it on the radio, and I have to admit, ladies and gentlemen, I was not pleased as I was a non-Yankee fan.

Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series 5

The greatest game I ever saw pitched. I was right there holding my breath with every pitch in the ninth inning -- especially the last one.

Perfect games are rare, but in the WS! That's amazing.

Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series 4

It was great, but then again, they have a history of overpowering the Dodgers.

Nobody's gonna duplicate that remarkable feat. Hasn't come close to a World Series since ... Luckily, it happened to be a NY Yankee! HAHAHAHAHA!

Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series 3

Yeah great game pitched by Larsen, but I don't like that it was against the Dodgers, even though I wasn't alive to see it, I still care about what happened with the Dodgers.

Good for him, because he was a subpar pitcher anyways. A weird thing about perfect games is you don't have to be a great pitcher to pitch one. Case in point: Kenny Rogers, David Wells, Ernest Shore, David Cone, Don Larsen. But some greats have tossed them: Koufax, I think Bob Gibson threw one, Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina almost.

a perfect game is good and all, but the game did not determine the series. without the perfect game, the yankess probably would have won the game anyways, and so this is little more than a fairy tale. Still, a perfect game is a perfect game.
