The best general of the Second World War, in any army. A brilliant tactician, a masterful operational and strategic mind, and a genius at moving and concentrating troops. With Guderian, one of the generals who were not only able to grasp the theories and opportunities of mobile armored combat, but to put it into devastating practice.

Excellent general, arguably the best field commander in the war. His abilities in corps, army, and army group command far outstrip his contemporaries, even at times Rommel. Had Hitler not sacked him in the fall of 1944 over a disagreement over strategic decisions, this man, adopted into Prussian nobility (Lewinski family), would not only go down in history as a Great Captain, but the outcome of the war may have been significantly different.

He was damn good, that's for sure. I'm just glad the Americans never had to go up against him.

The best Field Marshal of the war! His skills were shown in France, the Low Countries, the Crimea, Stalingrad, Rostov, Kharkov and Kursk! He was the best tactictioner of his time and he knew how to command. If Hitler would have listened to people like Manstein, Guderian, Von Rundsted, Hoth, etc. the world may be different today.
