David Niven to old school british for my taste. not that british are bad but... I do not seam to think this bond did much for the franchies. He as an early bond might poisen your tea. but later Bonds showed us a cunning individual. but still a Bond non the less.

David Niven played an aging Bond in the first Casino Royale, a truly awful movie.

Niven looks disinterested in the role, and while he does his standard "David Niven" impression flawlessly, its just not enough.

I think he would have made a good Bond in the official films. Sadly I don't like the film he made.

Niven must have done Casino Royale just for laughs. The whole movie was a farce, which Niven was particularly adept at. Niven was a great actor; this was not his greatest role.

Niven actually wasn't that bad believe it or not. That is, when Casino Royale wasn't being ridiculously stupid.
