Lorca was homosexual and on the side of the communists. As I have stated before, I think it is important to separate the art of the artist from politics. Whatever Lorca's personal ethics and politics may have been, and given the fact that some of his prose does not translate well, the man was sheer genius.
His political bent does not overshadow his gift.

I don't know much of Garcia Lorca except through history. My Spanish is not that good, and the English versions of his poems do not do that much for me. He was a far lefto parroting that line in his verse. He was caught on the wrong side of the line when the shooting started in 1936, during the Spanish Civil War, and was shot as a spy.

Until killed by the fascists in the Spanish Civil War, Garcia Lorca was the voice of his generation.
