04/26/2007 | Flash back to 1984 when "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and "Material Girl" were on the charts and I'll bet you almost every music fan and critic alive would have picked Cyndy Lauper to have a long a fruitful career and Madonna to be gone by the end of the year. They would have been right about Cyndy. Although she hasn't had a string of hit singles or top selling albums she has continued to be a productive, interesting and creative artist in concert, on stage and as an occassional recording artist. Love her or hate her, surprisingly so has Madonna.

07/21/2006 | Cyndi Lauper is, by far, the most underrated and overlooked artist out there. Yes, she is still making music and touring and just finished a run of the Three Penny Opra in NYC. She has a voice that brings you to your knees, especially live, and the artistry nearly every other singer lacks. A true gem!

Cyndi has not been an a-list celebrity (in this country at least) for over 20 years, But so what. At least this lady has done what she wanted to do in her life and has managed to and continues to make people happy with her work. How many of us can say that? It so high school when we in this country talk about whos popular and who is not popular anymore. get over it. just because you dont here a new Cyndi Lauper song on the radio does not mean she is a has been or one hit wonder. If you really pay attention to your surrondings anywhere you go you will hear a Cyndi Lauper song. Whenever I go shopping or to the casino. Or even on the radio albeit classic radio you will hear a Cyndi Lauper song. so shut up!!!!1

10/24/2005 | One the best singers ever! Anyone that may doubt this is only thinking of her 80s records and is not familiar with her body of work throughout the 90s and this decade. Her live shows are incredible! If one judges musical talent on popularity they know NOTHING about music and should not even listen to it. However, her shows sell out everytime and she tours quite a bit. True musicians do not live their life on MTV, they create music from their soul. Cyndi is far from a one hit wonder...She has released 8 albums and of sales has sold 20,000,000 of them. Which is a career most musicians who struggle would not complain about. However mostly importantly is her evolution as a singer and musician...Listen to the newer work it is some of the best music made.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is a fun, bouncy 80's song that lives on. Time after Time and True Colors are great songs beautifully sung by her that has been covered by other artists such as Phil Collins and Eva Cassidy.

12/03/2003 | Anyone who doubts the singing ability of Ms. Lauper has evidentally never seen this vocal acrobatic powerhouse perform live. She never stopped recording CD's and her BEST work can be found on her CD's from the 90's right up to the present. Cyndi is a TRUE artist.

06/21/2002 | I think she is a very misunderstood artist. She should have stayed away from all that wrestling crap in the 80's...it took away any credibility she would need for sustaining her career. Still, she has a great voice and her songwriting has matured. Her last two albums (the ones nobody bought or played) are great. Lots of new sounds.
