i have never taken biology but i was never really good at science haha

it waz fun to learn sum thingz...but alot of work

It's okay, but not my favorite.

Dissection was cool.

Somehow I got through biology without dissecting anything bigger than a worm. This is probably a testament against my school system, but I feel as though I lucked out.

Unfortunately this subject is moving out of science and into other areas. Would you want to be treated by doctors who are immersed in the scientific method or perhaps some other method based upon faith, for instance. Which do you prefer? I would hope that the pushers of intelligent design and anti-evolution practice what they preach. They should strictly patronize the faith healers and such, and leave the scientific types to the rest of us.

Best class ever. Dissecting is fun, and biology in general helps you understand the world around you.

An absolutely essential, yet rather boring class.

I loved the teachers I managed to get and I loved the subject matter and how important it was, especially for what I want to do with my life...but, I remove a star for the dissection aspect of the class.

Biology was fascinating!

Learning how the everything works was kind of fun. Dissection was a hoot.

I envy Drummond: as he probably knows, hot biology teachers are rather rare. I had one that the Elephant Man would've shuddered at. Obviously, something you should know about.

I had a gorgeous biology teacher, which is probably earning it an extra star.

every single concept and fact in biology is explained by chemistry. i mean its just a pathetic subject compared to others

I hated cutting open animals. And the smell of these classes, terrible.

Easy easy class. Much easier than chemistry since no math is involved such as dimensional analysis.

I recall doing well in Biology but sadly I have forgotten it all.

On a practical note, this subject would be a 4 rating (good to learn, but not vital). On a personal note, this was a very interesting subject for me. I got to learn these big scientific words, we spent almost 20 weeks just learning the chemistry of a cell. We also learnt about the various organs in the body. It is amazing how complex the human body is. It amazes me how although the human body is so complex, even the kidneys are like some futuristic machine, there are people who still don't believe that God created it and still believe it just created itself over millions of years. That was one thing I didn't like about Biology, they taught evolution as fact. In our Biology class, we did more then just cut up frogs, we had to cut open a rat (a dead one of coarse!) Some people felt a bit faint. That certainly put me off my dinner that night!

The best of the sciences, and also the easiest. Thankfully, almost no math is involved. Learning about animals somehow has a way of holding interest better than learning about chemicals and elements.

I got B's in it. But the subject was too hard. Very boring and all the rules, models, methods, and theory's gave my headaches. Not very crucial if you don't go into physics or become a engineer,

I really enjoyed biology in high school. My teacher made the subject appear very easy and fun. The only think I hated was when we had to do dissections.

Biology-the study of life. This is such an important subject, and is the most important and useful of the sciences! Everyone should have knowledge of Homeostasis, genetics, evolution, etc. THe class helps you to understand not only how your body works, but it teaches you the earth and its creatures interact. It makes you much more knowledgable, and smarter. Some things from biology I retain to this day, which is very important for whatever you want to do!

Biology is a great subject. It has actual information that you can bring out knowledge of in conversations, etc. It's where you learn the basic theories that everyone should know (genetics, evolution, global warming, etc.). The most useful science that can be taught in school, not just for those that are going into the medical field. The subject betters your understanding of everything in the body and the environment. It overall makes you a more cultured person to be erudite in the field of biology.

learning about the human body and other things like that is facinating. i am taking it this year in highschool

I wasn't too great at biology, but I still enjoyed the subject. It was very interesting to learn about living things and unlike some sciences, it doesn't involve too much math.

This was my college major, and I enjoyed the subject very much. Again, it depends on the teacher because anyone can make it dull and confusing. I've always been fascinated by the workings of the human body, and I'm not squeamish, so I didn't mind dissecting stuff.

Very interesting and very fun class. I liked everything EXCEPT dissection of animals and experimentation on live animals. (Hint: If you know that's on the syllabus, it might serve you well to not have biology class directly before nor after lunch.) For the schools, if you've already got the educational software that gives you a virtual frog or whatever, then we really don't NEED to dissect a real one! I know hands-on experience is good, but I think it should be an option that you can pass up if you choose and the resources are available. But, anyhow, biology is one of the more interesting of sciences (arguably) since it is easier to relate to yourself (as opposed to chemistry, where people might have a harder time relating to how matter on the molecular level relates to them).

Sometimes it's interesting but for the most part it's a waste of time unless you're pursuing something related to medicine, science ed., etc.

I think it is important for people to know how the body works, about ecosystems or any biological process. It gives people a better understanding of themselves, a better understanding of the natural world and life in general. Biology is cool!!
