I liked Obi-Wan. In his older years, he was wise and powerful.

I think he's kind of a prick.

"Sith Lords are our speciality" is my favorite Kenobi quote. My favorite of all the Jedi. Powerful, fearless and resourceful he managed to survive or kill in every situation, mostly from hanging on to some kind of edge... My only gripe is that he didn't finish off Anakin on the lava planet. He beat his ass and still he let him become Vader... but then we would never have had the great movies of the late 70s and early 80s. Funny thing about Anakin, he was looking for a way to keep Padme alive so he joined the dark side only to find out that Qui-gon already figured it out.

"SITH LORDS are our specialty!" Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sith slayer. The prototypical JEDI KNIGHT. He wasn't as strong with the Force as Yoda but his compassion, dedication and willingness to learn about more than just being a JEDI allowed him to achieve more in his lifetime than any other single character, although he was neither the father nor the son whose final actions finally redeemed the galaxy. In other words, he did all the work, and got not much of the credit. Both actors did an excellent job in potraying this slowly developing character.

That business with JANGO FETT was a tie. Obi Wan was trying to capture, not kill him.

Well, I am an 40 year old geek, so I didn't get young Obi-Wan. Old Obi-Wan I can relate to because he lived (and died with) alot of emotional baggage that he had to hold inside...sadness, regret, commitment...etc....very understandable.

I didn't get old Obi-Wan. The younger version rules. He can improvise in tough situations and is strong and wise, yet humble.

What can I say about the man who kicked Anakin's butt.

Obi Wan is da man! He's the perfect combination of classic characters - equal parts wizard, warrior, hippie-like guru and space cowboy all wrapped up in one package, especially delicious with Ewan McGregor as the younger version!

without the obi-wan character star wars could not be (largely due to ewan mcgregor) i am a long time fan of star wars and the latest three episodes are as good as the originals and ep 111 is the BEST. and lets face it every sith that faced obi-wan never WALKED away.

I liked Yoda better, personally, but after reading all the comments on here, I find it hard to argue with the reasoning. Without Obi-Wan, the series just wouldn't have worked.

In the first 3 episodes (even thought I haven't seen 3 yet), he was almost paranoid, and skiddish. But in episode 4, he was brave, and wise. I guess it comes with age.

...and Alec Guinness wasn't to shabby himself.

If we're talking Ewan McGregor, there is no one better.

Obi-Wan's so integral to the Star Wars epic and he's probably one of the best characters created by Lucas. Easily the ultimate Jedi, he had the wisdom and power that equalled by few. While some had similar strength in the Force, only Obi-Wan had the necessary control. Charming, judicious and dignified, Obi-Wan goes unmatched.

Obi-Wan is one cool guy. One things for sure there.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: dashing as a young Jedi, intrepid and cunning as mature one, and a source of wisdom and power in his old age. In Kenobi we see the full sweep of the Star Wars Saga, from its beginnings to the very end (and I mean the end--the guy's a ghost, remember?). It's shame that the prequel trilogy will be over so soon.

Obi-Wan rocks!I love him!Ewan McGregor does such a great job.I love Obi-Wan's sarcastic sense of humor(a little like Han Solo's)and he's so sexy without trying to be!I wish they'd make a movie all about him so we wouldn't have to watch that pathetic excuse for a romance or listen to Anakin whining about EVERYTHING!ok sorry a bit off topic there but yeh OBI-WAN KICKS ASS!....AND IS REALLY HOT!(had to get that in there!)
