 | hotel283 (20) 07/01/2006 | As a Canadian I almost wish this guy would be elected President. He would bring about a golden age of material for comedians. His platforms are sound and he seems bright but he telecasts as a spastic, jabbering marionette.

 | bibliophile (12) 11/01/2004 | Kucinich comes off as a little bit crazy. I almost never comment on candidates' looks, but one can't help but note that he looks downright gnomelike. I admit, I never knew much about him, and I no longer remember what I did know. Whatever he was selling, I wasn't buying.

 | lincolnsandcadillacs (4) 07/15/2004 | I admit, I only know a few things about this guy. He strongly opposes the war, which is the best or only thing I like about him. Kucinich is a flip-flopper but probably not as bad as Kerry. As a congressman, he was strongly anti-abortion - perhaps the most anti-abortion democratic congressman. However when running for president, he all of a sudden changed to pro-choice. Why? Obviously to chase votes. Also his plans for a universal health care system would be a bureacratic disaster. His estimated cost would be $22 trillion over a ten year period!

 | sofreshsoclean1 (0) 07/03/2004 | Although I know he would never win, I agree with EVERY SINGLE STANCE he has on EVERY SINGLE ISSUE. He is a good man, and one who REALLY does stand up against corporate greed and keeps politics and business as separate as possible. We don't have a president in office right now, we have a an administration of oil executives running the white house. It really is sad, but I am an optimist, and look forward to sending those folks home. It will happen!

 | magellan (174) 06/28/2004 | Wacky, protectionist, populist dreamer who has no chance. Kucinich - to date - hasn't taken advantage of his no chance invincibility to steer the election away from red herring issues (gay marriage, offshoring), to real issues (national debt, iraq, etc.).

 | Dirty Harry (1) 05/22/2004 | A real strange one here. He obviously needs a woman to calm him down. His positions on just about everything are so far out that he makes Kerry look like David Duke. The list of guys running in the Democratic primary confirm just how cuckoo this party is!

 | ahexomega (0) 05/07/2004 | Out of all the anger and dismay I have felt toward the current administration, toward the cynical voters and policy makers, and toward the media of this country (that gives more airtime and political credibility to a defunct Howard Dean candidacy than towards Dennis Kucinich's thriving grass roots one), none so much invokes so much seething as those who simply say, Yeah great, but he won't win. You are defeatist, and conformist. You are the status quo and you have bought into the legitimacy of a homogenous and thus ineffective political system. Why don't you save your opinions for a Walmart customer survey, and let the rest of us get up and do something about this train wreck waiting to happen before it gets hijacked for another four years.[<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>]These are the issues, where are the arguments? [1] Universal Health Care with a Single Payer Plan-----[2] Full Social Security Benefits at Age 65-----[3] Withdrawal from NAFTA and WTO-----[4] Repeal of the Patriot Act-----[5] Right-to-Choose, Privacy, and Civil Rights-----[6] Balance Between Workers and Corporations-----[7] Guaranteed Quality Education, Pre-K through College-----[8] A Renewed Commitment to Peace and Diplomacy-----[9] Restored Rural Communities and Family Farms-----[10] Environmental Renewal and Clean Energy.[<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>]And as for to you cynical, right-wing conservative fux'rs who tote around your tired hatred for idealists and hippies, while desperately clinging to the notion that every left-winger is trying to take your guns away, and in the same breath, claim a pro-life/pro-death penalty stance: gets some new rhetoric and go look up the word irony. When was the last time you ever did anything to contribute to the well-being of EVERYONE around you?[<<<<<<<>>>>>>>]As for this comment,This guy is an absolute clown - I mean the city of Cleveland went bankrupt under his watch, and he wants to run the whole country?, do some research. Kucinich stood up to the corrupt power utility trying to hold the public hostage, and which tried to blackmail the mayor by threatening to turn off the power. They managed to bankrupt cleveland and ruin Kucinich's political career by using leverage they had within the region's banks.

 | Redoedo (41) 03/16/2004 | Kucinich should be commended for his passion and what seems like a genuine desire to help out the majority of this country who are struggling to make ends meet. However, he is way too far to the left to even appeal to his own base, let alone mainstream voters. His own policy initiatives, while sincere and seemingly helpful, are very unrealistic. He would return this country back to protectionist trade policies that would cripple the economy in the short term not improve it. Consumer spending and demand is typically what creates and keeps jobs in this country, and the protectionist policies that Kucinich insists on would result in higher prices and thus less consumer spending. The end result is less money being pumped into the economy and very little job growth and potentially continued job loss. His social agenda is very liberal, and while seemingly noble, they would drive this country further into debt and do very little to re-establish fiscal discipline. His plan for Iraq is a bit far-fetched and is largely dependent on just how much the international community is willing to commit to the cause. The recent terrorist attack in Spain and the subsequent election results there reflect the fact that Iraq is not something that the majority of world countries want to get involved in largley due to fear of terrorist retaliation. In the final analysis, it's time for Kucinich to throw in the towel as his campaign has largely been a failure and had little chance of succeeding to begin with.

 | nerosfiddle (0) 02/17/2004 | He is the only real alternative to Bush. Kerry is Bush light. People need to stop being afraid and vote for who they believe in. What is the worst that could happen? You don't pick a winner? So? Your vote is meant to represent you and your feelings on issues. It is anonymous. No one will know that you voted for someone who didn't win, no one even cares. The system will only work when people realize this is one of the limited opprotunities for us as a citizenry to speak and give our opinions. It doesn't work if people vote for candidates that don't share their opinions.

 | abichara (63) 02/17/2004 | Kucinich has charisma but his chances of getting the nomination are next to nil. He has a very weak campaign organization who appeals to niche leftist voters who are ethical vegetarians. His plan to get out of Iraq is very unrealistic and so is his plan to make a cabinet position known as the Department of Peace. Will it be competing with the State Department? I don't see him as President.

 | jpsandrs (0) 01/26/2004 | Dennis Kucinich will stand up for workers rights, peace and the environment. He is the only presidential candidate who would cancel NAFTA and the WTO, which has caused millions of american jobs to be moved overseas where the workers are treated like slaves and often are paid less than a dollar a day. He voted against the Iraq war and he is the only candidate who has a plan to bring the troops home. He would provide universal health care and free college. He is strong on environmental protection. You don't have to take my(or his)word for it. Just look at his voting record. Dennis Kucinich gets my vote.

 | diamondsoul (0) 01/26/2004 | Dennis Kucinich is the voice of America. We need that voice leading us out of the shameful, oppressive and outright dangerous policies of the Bush administration. He is absolutely the strongest opponent to G. W. Bush in the race. Oh, and the city of Clevelan never went bankrupt when he was Mayor, it went into default. There is a difference.

~nafta is great! i am glad our jobs are going to sweatshops to overseas!~
~universal healthcare? bahh!! who needs it! i can't wait until a medical tragedy strikes my family so i can join the hundreds of thousands of other americans who have lost everything and gone bankrupt to pay for surgeries and treatments insurance won't cover.~
~end the war!!?? no way jose! we need to prove to the world that america is tough and will stop at nothing to get control of the remaining oil supply. don't those people know when not to mess with their superiors? who do they think they are anyway? no little brown baby is worth more than cheap fuel for my SUV!!~
~end corporate control of government? what is that kooky kucinich talking about!! we need the rich and powerful corporations to tell what we are worth and where to spend our hard earned money! they are richer than us so they much be smarter, right? we need to quit questioning authority and just shutup and accept our lot in life! after all, someone has to be in charge of us poor folk and see to it that we don't start tring to pry in matters which don't concern us like the federal budget and military contracts.~
then vote for one of the other candidates. take a card, any card. OR, you can vote for kucinich and make a real difference. we have the power. let's choose to use it!!

 | FireDragon76 (0) 01/26/2004 | He is from Ohio -- a state which has 20 electoral points -- which he could bring with him in a battle against Bush. Kucinich was elected with 74% of the vote in Ohio; Bush managed to get 49% from Ohio, when Gore got 45%. Nader, Greens, Democrats, and Natural Laws back Kucinch, which is an edge Gore never had, but Kucinich has it. The AFL-CIO rates Kucinich at 98%, in favor of labor and families. He tops all other candidates when it comes to caring for the environment: He scored a 100% rating for the year 2002, and a lifetime rating of 95%, by the Public Interest Research Group. He has the best work attendance out of all of the other candidates, with a 99% attendance, even while on the campaign trail he scored 94%. He earned the Gandhi Peace Award and the Heart of Humanity Award. He grew up within a huge family in 21 different homes and a couple cars, before the age 17, so his walk and talk and knowledge about how hard the working class has it is genuine. Kucinich could crush Bush.

 | burro (0) 08/07/2003 | Kucinich is the one! We NEED an idealist or we'll keep going down the same wasteful, destructive paths. Why are some people so afraid of reaching for utopian ideals? That is exactly what our purpose in life ought to be.
I believe Kucinich can win if he gets the Democratic nomination.
Dean is far too much like Bush to force Bush out -- and, even if he does, we've still mostly got Bush. [Dean is not good on gun control -- not good on the death penalty -- has a history of siding with corporations over the environment -- doesn't want to cut military spending (not even programs like Star Wars and 'tactical' nukes) -- says "I'm not your guy [if you want to reform the health care system]" -- is pro-Israel in the (illegal, oppressive) conflict with the Palestinians -- not ready to pull U.S. out of Iraq -- cites need for war on terrorism to continue -- not willing to abolish Patriot Act, abandon Patriot Act II, etc. -- essentially supports NAFTA/CAFTA/GATT/WTO -- etc. -- No real vision; just spin.]
I believe the Democrats have to stop cowardly playing for the right-moving Middle, and recover the now sizable disenfranchised Left. For that, Dean is not the ticket. Kucinich is *exactly* who we need!
