Native American, and Medieval. The building is one of the best designed I've seen in the world for display of its holdings. The center court is a perfect piece of renaissance Spain.

Don't confuse them, and visit the Nelson-Atkins if you have the opportunity to do so. The building itself is noteworthy, and the collections are (for the most part) good to excellent - except for the Oriential collection, which is world-famous and in a class by itself. It would be interesting to know why such a superior collection of Oriential art resides in Kansas City, but there it is!

Its strongest section is Asian art, for which it has international recognition. Other collections are of good quality and very well displayed in a truly impressive building. If you have some spare time in Kansas City, the Nelson-Atkins museum is well worth the effort.
