Though I'm VEHEMENTLY anti-homosexual (what everyone else in the world, these days, would classify as bigoted and chauvanistic even though during an elightened era of this country's history several decades ago -everyone was anti homosexual) I tried watching a few minutes of this laughable schlock a few years ago. Pathetic effeminate men were talking about new clothes and fashions which were so obsolete and '70's-esque that I cringed. One of the many cliches that this show proves wrong is that: 1. Homosexual men are not more intelligent than straight men. In fact in all my encounters with them they are a lot blinder and more moronic than straight men. They are more verbose -much like their female counterparts- but very blind and stupid, otherwise. 2. A homosexual does not have a greater sense of fashion than the straight man. In fact his fashion tastes are a lot more backwards and stupider. This show and many other like examples in society demonstrates that man was meant to be man and woman was meant to be woman. Some men are born more feminine than others and some women are born tom-boys. And while one can cross the lines of gender entirely and in almost every way look and act the part of the gender they were not "meant to be" they will never truly be that gender. All he or she will be is laughable and pathetic.

So much a part of the slew of television shows designed for you to feel bad about yourself just because you don't dress in accordance with the opinions of two narcassistic twits- but the show is smart because if you hate it your (1) wife or girlfriend will roll your eyes at you and (2) real or false accusations of homophobia. . .you're in a tight spot for hating this crap- man, that's smart. . .

I like it! The straight guys are great sports to let five gay guys come in and change their homes and wardrobe. I think its funny when they have the guys prepare food......the girlfriends always seem to like the changes in their men!

Why would I want fashion advice from a bunch of dudes who wear pink pants with a zebra t shirt and cowboy boots? I hate their jokes, everything isn't related to sex dudes.

Let me preface my review by saying that I neither have a problem with homosexuals or the fact that they have their own show. Not a problem in the world. But I dislike the "queer eye" guys for several reasons. For one thing, they think that they are oh so fashionable and "chic" and straight men are barely capable of choosing their own clothes day by day. I resent that. I may not wear clothes that Hollywood elites think are "cool", but I have my own sense of fashion, and I resent five gay guys treating me (or any other straight guy) like a fool because I don't dress like them. I also can't get over the fact that they have adopted the nickname "the fab five". That nickname began with the Beatles - who WEREN'T gay - who were called the 'fab four' by the Press and their fans. Not only do the "queer eye" guys not deserve such a nickname, but it makes me angry that people will begin to associate the nickname with homosexuality, further adding ammunition to idiots who are absolutely convinced that the Beatles are gay.

take it off the air!
bouchilly 08/22/2005
How about the Judes of the world get over themselves and appreciate how much the Fab 5 try to give and help people? The only reason I give it a four instead of a five is I think the critism is a little to harsh at the end of the show. These men getting help are a work in progress-- not to mention they are nervous being on national TV with a bunch of guys watching them shave. It is really fun to watch though!

Not only is this show boring, it is boooooring!

Judging the show and not the lives of the people on it: I've only caught this a couple of times, but I have to say it was pretty entertaining. I wasn't aware that they would sometimes get the subjects entire family involved.
Wid71 05/06/2005
Oh for crying out loud Jude, get over yourself. Incest does NOT equal homosexuality. Judge not lest ye be judged, mmmmkay? You are a sinner too, so you have no right to judge. By the way, if you actually watched the show you would see many redeeming qualities. On one episode a couple was about to be seperated because the guy was getting shipped off to Iraq. You should have seen sll the nice things the fabulous 5 did for them. They provided them with all new home furnishings, brand new laptops so they could chat to each other, a years worth of groceries, etc. Doesn't sound too evil to me. I find the show rather amusing. It's nice to see some of the guys who are slobs clean up. Perhaps they'll get a better appreciation for what women go through to look nice. It requires more than a 10 minute shower and quick shave.
Gentle Jude 04/22/2005
Although it is not the worst show out there, it is still morally pathetic. This show glorifies homosexuality which is condemned in the Bible. Homosexuality is an outright sin and should not be supported or glorified. This certainly doesn't mean that we should hate them or that they can never be saved, because God loves them and wants them to turn form their ways to Him. It just means that it shouldn't be glorified. I mean, society is hypocritical. Society condemns incest, yet it glorifies 2 men or women having sexual relations to each other.

Best show on televison, Carson is fabulous!

I love this show!! I watch it with my boyfriend every week, and believe me, it has not turned him gay!... and no, this is not a show where they dress up stratigh men to look gay!! it's the 21st century people. Some people who have spewed out their anti-gay hatred here haven't even seen the show, so they don't know that it's FUNNY, entertaining, and that there's no gay sex going on! why are you so afraid-- afraid you might turn gay if you watch? afraid your friends will laugh at you?... afraid you'll LIKE IT?!! ... better take a look at yourselves before you go pointing the finger. I take offense because i have friends who are gay, and they're above all, PEOPLE. I also take offense at those who spread hatred and justify it as a religious act. I consider myself a religious person, and I don't find this show immoral, wrong, or a threat to society. It's closed-minded people like you (funny how you all love the internet though!) that give religious people a bad name! you make us all sound like fanatics holding pitch forks. Lighten up everyone- it's meant to be ENTERTAINMENT!! and if you don't like it... DON'T WATCH IT. it's THAT simple. (might I add that most straight guys could stand to learn a thing or two about cleanliness and style from the FAB 5?!)
Beelzebub 03/18/2005
Okay, so 5 gay guys helping a straight guy look better and treat his wife/girlfriend better is evidence of the moral decline of our society. People! It's a t.v. show! Lighten up!
Mr Evangel 03/14/2005
What has America come to. Yeash!!!! By the way, Opera being black is a completley different, than a moral or more likely unmoral choice.
amybell1 03/04/2005
Soul Junkie needs to learn how to spell kleptomaniac. And how can you liken homosexuality to a behavioral dysfunction? Isn't this 2005? For a minute there I thought I had stepped into a 1950s sitcom. I'm sure you'd prefer those days, but then you couldnt use your computer to spread your hate and intollerance! You'd have to go back to wearing bedsheets and burning crosses! It's totally ridiculous to hate a entire group of people, not to mention a TV show, based solely on thier sexual orientation or any other biological factor. If someone said they hated Oprah because she is African American that would be neo-nazism. Isnt this the same thing? Get over yourself and the self-righteous crap rolling out of your mouth. I love the Fab 5. And they love men. And all those opposed?
Maomania 03/01/2005
The first season was hilarious. But it gotten old really fast. Carson (or whatever is name is) is the star of the show in my eyes. It is a very interessting idea and I enjoyed watching it for a while, but I don't watch it anymore.
numbah16tdhaha 01/15/2005
How fabulous.
lesleywhite79 11/19/2004
It's an amusing show that is also very informative. I love it.
m_e 10/31/2004
I'm not really a gay-friendly person, but when I watch this show, I see the Fab 5 as people who actually care about other people. They're just helping straight men to change their lifestyles for the better. What's wrong with that? More good, straight guys for us girls! ;p But sometimes, the show gets too draggy, too much into detail... and I am curious how Thom can almost completely redesign houses within a day?
Kat25 10/13/2004
The show has some good parts about it, but I find it hard to beleive that 1 guy can totaly repaint/change an appt in one afternoon. Sometimes they seem to go overboard, but what the hey, I think that's the idea of the show.
kuppie21 10/09/2004
My mom keeped on bragging to me how great this show is, so I gave it a shot and changed the channel within 10 minutes how boring this show is. I don't know his name but the blonde guy with the big nose is sooo annoying he thinks he Mr.Noeverything, get a life.

Would someone tell the fashionista to get something done to his hair that looks like it hasn't been washed or trimmed forever. I can't believe that someone that wears fliplops and has hair that looks yesterdays spaghetti has enough nerve to tell others how to dress. He's the worst!!!!!!!!
Mr.Political 09/02/2004
This shows is only one of the many shows around that glorify a society free of morals and family values. The same morals and family values that have made America a successful country in such a short time.
OneHungryMonst er 09/02/2004

its the best show on tv
queereyegeek 08/17/2004
I absolutely LOVE this show, and normally I don't even like Reality or makeover shows. What makes Queer Eye so great, though, is that the Fab 5 are truly fabulous! They genuinely care about the straight men, and are very sweet and intelligent. Those of you who think its stereotypical or immoral need to lighten up and open your minds! The Fab 5 have more compassionate and loving than you Bible-thumpers will ever be! This is one of the best shows EVER!
MariusQelDroma 07/26/2004
Can we say....WAY too much information?!?
rar3kain 07/23/2004
Best show ever. It is by far my favorite. I have every episode on tape and can't go a day without at least watching it once... If you like queer eye, and love Carson you should go to www.carsonkressley.com It is his official website, there is a great forum there, and even a section where you can drop Carson a note!
xtreme03 07/23/2004
I love this show. Its so funny! Plus I love fashion and interior design...so I learn alot at the same time! :)
souljunkie 07/21/2004
This kind of programming is a perfect example of how our society chooses to glorify disfunctional behavior. I imagine soon enough there will be a reality program about cleptomaniacs and alcoholics. I guess if we cannot avoid homosexuals, in this day and age in our country, we might as well be able to laugh at them.
BeatlesfanStev eo 07/13/2004

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!! And I love Carson! They're sharp, quick, funny and absolute sweethearts. For those who can't stand the show... A little advise: Don't take yourselves sooo seriously! It's a sad world outthere, this is just an opportunity to sit back and relax so why not grab it?? Carson, you ROCK!
1JohnDoeFan 05/25/2004
I have never watched this and never will. I can dress myself I don't need homosexual men to do it for me. They might have a sense of style but that doesn't give queers the right to gay up us straight men.
VinnyIN 05/17/2004
I hate this show. I don't care if your gay or not, but please don't force us to watch your lifestyle on TV. To be honest, if some gay guy tried telling me how to dress, I'd tell him to f*** off. I can dress myself thank you.
rekcarc 05/10/2004
this show is stereotypical of gays and straight people, it's just plain bad for society. oh yea and REAL men dont care about fashion anyways
luv_vs_hate 05/10/2004
These guyz are hilarious!!! I luv them... they've got gr8 tastes in design and fashion. They r so funky!!! I could be friends wit them... I'm a girl but i wouldn't mind their opinion lol (Do you want to come shopping wit me???) You go boys. Luv ur album...
PAMELAS 04/29/2004
I think this is the BEST show I've ever seen! I saw it for the first time completely by accident at a friend's house. The next day I changed cable companies because my current company doesn't carry it. I have watched it 4 times now and I am totally in LOVE with THOM!!! He is so cute!!
dmillers 04/18/2004
I do not feel like this is a show that is consistant with fundamental family morals. Not something I want in my home.
RebelYell1861 04/14/2004
I don't think abominations should create fame and profit, especially while using television to influence impressionable children at the same time.
Bella13 04/14/2004
Did you know that Bravo, or the production company Scout, fired about 50% of their enslaved staff from season 1? Yeah most of the people that worked to get this show up and running were replaced by Hollywood people. They've hired four times the staff too! I recently found this out while attending a charity in LA. In this industry I don't find it hard to believe, but I'd love to read a book about written by those staffers who were let go, Im sure we'd get the truth then!
minkey 04/09/2004
Update: I checked out their book - it's a must-read for all guys. Great ideas on how to dress, socialize, decorate your home, cook, and other useful tips. Seriously read this, especially if you're sort of lacking in style points...Funny show. I want to hire these guys.
Fiesty1 04/07/2004
Please keep this show on tv, this is one of the most interesting, funny and innovative shows that has been on tv in a long time.
