 | Molfan (58) 04/07/2008 | I remember watching this in the 60s. good talent show with so many acts to watch. His show helped launched careers. i saw some clips from the 50s and saw some of the wonderful acts Ed Sullivan had on. He was great for giving Broadway plays some airtime showing scenes from the play.Heard he could break a career as well if he did not like you. too bad he would do that. but that said his show was in our living room for years. have good memories of watching this as a family.

 | Spike65 (11) 04/06/2008 | The earlier shows which featured vaudville style progamming and a few broadway show stars were not something I was too excited about. The later years Ed had to include acts popular with the baby boomers such as Elvis, The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, Rolling Stones, etc. it became hugely popular with the younger crowd.

 | doobiesNhof (21) 06/04/2006 | Ed Sullivan was a master of presenting superb talent to America each and every Sunday night. Countless numbers and many that would become icons (The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Elvis, etc just to name a few).

 | brian j (0) 02/02/2006 | some really good talent here...Ed knew talent when he saw it. Will always remember Petula Clark the singer...she sang downtown etc. She was a great talent and very popular overseas...never really made it big here in the states.

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 09/26/2005 | It gave popular entertainment to an age that needed it. It was notable for introducing much new talent to America. If you made it on the Ed Sullivan show, you really were on the way. Now Ed had some clunkers also. I never understood why he kept bringing back the Italian mouse, for instance.

 | irishgit (138) 04/01/2005 | Probably the last remnant of vaudeville, this was something of a ritual when I was a child. Where I first saw the Beatles, Herman's Hermits and the Rolling Stones.

 | Sajak16 (0) 12/13/2003 | A Sunday ritual that for 23 years was followed just as passionately as Church. EVERYBODY watched this show; just regular episodes are STILL part of the Top 50 Highest Rated Television Broadcast. And introducing Elvis Presley and the Beatles can't hurt either. :)
