R&B with an ether binge overtone. At its best, great stuff. At its worst it makes an ok soundtrack for Jenna Jameson.

Dang, some people need to get out more. Complicated rythyms, bad ass horns, guitars freakin' out, what's not to like? UPDATE: I can't decide whether its status as the official soundtrack for porn helps or hurts its case...

Heavy polyrhythmic grooves, choppy guitar, dirty in yer face bass, tooting horns.. yep my kind of music. Without tha funk there'd be no hip-hop. Some might say shame then, but not I. Sure there's been some bad funk but when you add it all together the great outweighs the rest. P-Funk, early Kool and the Gang, The (mighty) Meters, Fatback Band, early Commodores, Tower of Power ..all still sound fresh and relevant today, unlike most music of 10+ years ago. if you dont find yourself moving some part of your body to any funk tune then you must be dead. The greatest music genre to come out of the USA.

Who can resist the old school classics? Enough said.

George Clinton,Bootsy Collins,Bernie Worrell,Eddie Hazell...P-Funk,Zapp & similar bands rule! (If it weren't for THEM- Hip Hop would have nobody to sample and bite except John Bonham and Aerosmith riffs).

93century thinks of Mario Vanpeebles role as Stitch Jones. The earl of funk, the duke of cool, the eyatolla of rockin rolla!

I'm not funky enough to enjoy this type of music.
