I discovered this site by accident...maybe not...I love your spirit...today I cannot go to church...because...it hurts my heart to hear Christians tear people appart...I love to hear Jimmy Swaggart sing more than eat...I would like to know what kind of fellowship you are involved with that makes you so forgiving...I never held anything against Jimmy Swaggart...the way I viewed it...he can bring me into a place when he sings like NO one else...he is annointed...I just wish I could find a church in the Orlando, Florida area where they would have a preacher like him...do you know of any? Hello. My post is basically about something that I can relate to as a Christian......the fact that, like Jimmy Swaggart, I too have struggled with pornography. I can't say that I have had promiscuous sex with a woman. I am thankful to the Lord that throughout these 18 years of my vice, that I am still a virgin and have never deflowered a woman. I have gotten some help with a prayer ministry that is giving me breakthroughs, and I can only say for myself that my involvement with porn has not been as severe. Glory be to God for that. In all things I will give thanks to the Lord.

Jimmy (and probably Donnie) Swaggart have preached against psychology over the past years, which would include counseling. It is very intriguing that when Donnie Swaggart held a press conference in October of 1991 after his dad's second exposure, he stated that his father would be taking an undetermined period of time off from the ministry for "professional counseling." There is nothing inherently wrong with counseling generally, if it is based on Biblical grounds. However, I have determined that conventional counseling does not really help the hurting in the long run, because most of the therapists out there can only offer coping mechanisms to people who come for help. One perfect example of someone, out of all due respect, who is known to only have given these mechanisms is Dr. James Dobson of Focus On The Family.



I see Jimmy and his entire immediate family as hurting individuals, who may or may not be in touch with their own pain. I have submitted myself to a counseling-type of prayer ministry that essentially states in a nutshell that much of what we do to sin is rooted in pain, which is rooted in trauma and lie-based thinking. Though I understand that even though sin causes pain, if we get to the real root problem, and have it uprooted, we will be made whole.



Is Jimmy Swaggart whole? Well, it's hard to determine. He has made some strides, but the saddest fact of history is that his painful history repeated itself, with some known moral failures....dating in 1988, 1991, (and 1995? = not determined) He could have made an earlier comeback had he submitted to mature, godly authority figures who would have been spiritual enough to restore him. It is a shame how he had lost a lot of credibility.



For Jimmy Swaggart to come up to his church audience in October 1991 after his second moral failure and say "The Lord said it's flat none of your business" is only a reflection of deep insecurity and hurt that Swaggart was unwilling to deal with and face head-on. It is to my understanding that when Donnie Swaggart was questioned about why he had gotten divorced, he had echoed the same words as his father.



In her defense, for Frances Swaggart to "stand by her man" after these numerous unravelings, it would merit her to be given a medal of honor for not filing for divorce. Maybe some of you out there would say that she might have had scriptural grounds for divorcing him, but I do praise God that she decided to stay with Jimmy. Praise be to God for that.


It is sad that ministries like JSM have not thrived as much as what it could, and the reason lies more than likely with the Body of Christ-at-large.....we have been a sleeping, prayerless church.




I grew up listening to Swaggart's music in the 80s and taped him off of television. I still enjoy watching vintage videos of his on Youtube and Tangle.com.



Some of you may vent your venom in this room. The one poignant thing I can say to you is this: if Jimmy Swaggart walked into an outlet mall in your home town where you happened to be shopping, would you have enough humility to give him at least a handshake or a hug, or would you be triggered? I pose this other question to you all as well: Are you praying, and are you praying without ceasing?



My last thoughts: There are many Jimmy Swaggarts out there who have never gone beyond the outer court and into the secret place with God to discover intimacy with Him. I can't say that I'm an authority on what I'm talking about; because of what I posted earlier, I still have a ways to go. I will forever keep the good memories of what God did through Jimmy Swaggart. If God could use a donkey to speak to Balaam, and He could use Swaggart, then I have assurance that He can use a speck of dust like me. I have traveled along further in my spiritual development since I had originally made this post. I have repented before God for things I said in this room which was nothing short of gossip. I believe that the effectual prayer of a righteous man or woman avails much.

Why Jimmy Swaggart Still Needs To Repent

Is anyone going to say where Donnie's second wife Judy is? Is Donnie planning to marry again soon? Does "Doxa," who claims to "interact hourly" with Jimmy Swaggart know?

Update from October 1, 2009. I see Judy was on the stage with Donnie on last Sunday's Telecast. But Tareva Henderson and Jeremy Downey were singing. What's the deal? Are these people back, or do the Swaggie's just want TV viewers, aka suckers, to think that these people are stil with the ministry when this clip is about 4 years old?

I think that swaggart is a man of God. also he has a cool study bible. I been to the youth camps and they changed my life so you come out on july 22-26 2009.

Are we judging King David's heart? Which would be crazy, so we should not be judging Jimmy's. I personally think Jimmy is very passionate about Jesus and the Gospel. If he's not, then God will deal with him. I read a post somewhere that Jimmy was no King David or Simon Peter. Well, I hate to tell ya, but yeah he is and we all are. Why? We are all human. King David, Simon Peter, yep they had a corruptable human nature. King David didn't even repent right away. It wasn't even after having sex with Bathsheba, that he realized he made a mistake and repented, but then Bathsheba gets pregnant, and then David has her husband killed. What kind of Godly man is that? Good grief! Jimmy didn't even do that. LOL But guess what? David was a great man. Why? Because he loved God and God used him in special ways. Why did David do this? Because lust (sin, human nature) got the best of him. Why? Because despite him loving God, David had a corruptable sin, human nature that got the best of him. And guess what? That makes us all the same. And Simon Peter was a hot head with a bad temper. But these men love God and God used them in special ways. As many of us have a calling and he uses us in special ways.

We have to realize, we all the same. We have to realize what human nature really is. It's  corrupted, immoral, repulsive, twisted. We have to realize we are all corrupted and twisted. Even if you don't think so, you are, especially in the eyes of God who is Holy. We all need Jesus Christ our perfect lamb of sacrifice. We are all bunch of screw ups. God knows this. (duh) And we all need God to help and we all need to thank Jesus everyday for what he did. Not one of us has any right to judge or think we are better than the other, to be self-righteous. Just by our mind and our thinking, we are corrupted.

There was only one perfect one and that is Jesus Christ. He took our sins away to those who believe. The accusations, Frances is like the rest of them who has the love of money, whether Jimmy really repented or not from his lust sin, human nature, the cry cry baby is an act. Well, God knows they are all human, but He is using this ministry in a special way. People are coming to Jesus probably almost daily. But guess what? These are accusations and to those who made those posts accusing, Satan is the accusor and he is using you. These are destructive posts, not even informative....just destructive. And if you think it is okay to accuse just because these are message boards and it's just the internet, you are sadly mistaken. You will be called into judgement if you don't make your ways right. Especially if it is one of God's own. God is not pleased with accusation and He will let you know it. You could be part of trying to destroy His work.

And if you think these accusations are correct like as if you could be on to something, then pray for them. Don't judge them. We all need to pray for one another.

Realize, this sin nature, this human nature, this corrupted state we are in, is all due to the fall. This is not the way God intended and this is not the way it is going to stay. Look forward to a new life, a new earth, a new heaven, and a new Jerusalem. We are all waiting for that day!

I watch brother Jimmy every night on tv and also bought the study bible. The bible is excellent, as for Jimmy He is wonderful and clearly gets to the point. I feel Jimmy Swaggart is a sincere Christian. I find very little in his message that I disgree with. If you CLAIM to be a Christian, you should be CAREFUL judging Mr. Swaggart. Because I live in the Coachella Valley in Riverside County- California - down the road from INDIO - where man of God  Jimmy Swaggert was caught in a seedy hotel doing a prostitute - I am aware of the all the debauchery that he was involved in as it played out in the local newspapers and local nightly newscasts. His SIN notwithstanding was similar in depravity that mega church pastor Ted Haggard got caught in relative to illicit sex with someone who was not his wife... Jimmy Swaggert is a sick man - only because like Ted Haggard he lives in denial of his gross dark sins (evidenced by the way he handled the rebuke of church officials and censuring by his denomination) and that denial alone causes the pathway that he is on - to be fraught with deception which is leading to destruction to all that follow him. Because the whatever is at the TOP runs down to the bottom. And to you aarestivo speaking the truth is what sets a human soul free.

The very person who would go to the Assembly of God and accuse ministers of misconduct. Ask the Assembly of God to distance themselves from ministers to whom might tarnish the good name of the organization and punish those who got caught in sin and HE WAS THE WORST OF THEM ALL. And when the Assembly of God found out what he had done, Jimmy did not submit to the very disciplines he mandated for others, He left the organization. WHAT AN EVIL MAN. What do you call a person who insists that others follow all the laws and rules, but does not consider these laws and rules to apply to himself? This person continually flouts these laws and rules. And then when he gets caught, this person is, oh so sorry, not that he did wrong but that he got caught, with the implication that he would have continued in the same old law breaking and rule breaking way except for the apprehension? Now he states that he is sorry for what he did, but since he hadn't stopped the bad acts on his own accord, objectively we must conclude that he is only sorry for himself because he was caught! (I could go on and on about this guy.) What do you call that person? Answer: SOCIOPATH UPDATE: From reading some of the posts, I conclude that if a person such as JS is saved, he must not be called to account for his hyprocricsy, flagrant lying, and, well you know, everything else he did. I rate this two stars only. Not that it didn't make some good points - it would have been much better had it addressed facts only and left the personal attacks and name calling out of it. Without verifying each individual claim, I can at least say this: Donnie Swaggart's teaching is not exactly unbiblical. When it comes to doctrine, most christians recognize that there are beliefs that are essential to being a christian and those that are not. Swaggart's errors, from my experience, seem to be those of the non-essential. Of all the essentials he seems to be in line.

Folks, forget his sins and so-called forgiveness and think of the huge estate he has amassed and the fortune he has been given by a large number of well intentioned Christians. In my opinion, he has been made very wealthy and has not invested the funds in his ministry, but in real estate and his personal fortune. I have absolutely no confidence in this man. He puts on his dog and pony show without my wasting electricity on him-at least, not anymore. I have listened to him in the past. He is entertaining. Give him that much. not any more. I love the guy. The whole world can judge him, condemn him and walk all over him, but He loves God above all else and He preaches nothing but Christ and the Cross. One day, we will hear God honor Him and we'll see God reward him for fearing no one but God. Jimmy Swaggart...I do not believe that anyone could contest the impact that this man has had on Christianity. I believe that Jimmy loves God and is sincere in what he teaches and preaches. God does not say it is wrong to commit sexual sin but it is ok to be mean and hateful and name calling. God is not partial. Sin is sin. If we claim to be Christians then we need to walk as Jesus Christ walked (1 John 2:6). How did Jesus walk? In love, forgiveness and compassion. Those who sinned, if they repented, He forgave them, telling them to go sin no more (Jn 8:11). Jesus says that we are to forgive sin 490 times a day if someone sins and repents (Mt 18:21,22). In fact, Jesus also went onto say that those who don’t forgive will be turned over to the tormenters by God Himself (Mt 18:34,35). This is one reason why some “Christians” are so hateful and have little victory in their life. The best thing for them to do is repent and get right with God. Did Jimmy Swaggart sin? He sure did. Did Jesus forgive him when he cried out to Him in repentance? He sure did. If God forgives and forgets then we need to do the same if we want to be like Christ. It never ceases to amaze me how smart, intelligent people don't have enough sense to get out of the past. For those who cannot forget what Jimmy Swaggart confessed to years ago, please wake up and realize there is a generation of people who do not even know who or what you're talking about! Swaggart had to go through a time of sin, to realize the grace of God and the Cross. Since he left the SAVED AND LOSS doctrine, and realized Christ paid it all on the Cross, Jimmy Swaggart has a new and vital ministry in America. I believe that he is one of the few that are preaching the Cross. Jesus Christ, God in the Flesh, came to earth and gave his life on the Cross for all Sin, he died was buried and Rose again from the dead. He was seen by many in Israel, and accended into heaven. And he will be returning soon. Bless the sinner, Jimmy Swaggart.

I would like to share my experience with the Swaggart family. I have attended Family Worship Center church, where Bro. Swaggart is the senior pastor, for nearly 16 years. My family is not rich, does not live in a big house, and our name is important to no one, except the Lord. Not long after I started attending FWC, my family went through a situation that was so bad that it felt like death. At the time we did not know the Swaggart family personally for I had never introduced myself to them. When Bro. & Sister Swaggart learned of our situation, they were immediately on the phone to me and even showed up at my house to comfort and encourage my husband and me. I must add that my husband wasn't saved at that time but it made no difference. I can still see Bro. Swaggart standing in the middle of my living room with his arms around my husband. Since that time, many things have happened in my life and in each situation, the entire Swaggart family has been there for me and my family. I have never known a family who has more of a love for the people and a true caring and concern for the souls of all of mankind.

I don't know much about Jimmy but I know one thing that if he has really repented God will still accept him and use him. 1 Sam 13:14 says David was of God's own heart and that is the reason he was selected to become king.
