While Henry Rollins is a miserable pompous ass, his old band was superb.

 | edt4 (99) 01/28/2005 | One of the last, and best, of the American punk bands from the Golden Period. Maybe there were others that followed, but Black Flag was really the last band from that genre that I ever followed, or was interested in. I guess I figured that after listening to them, anything else would be sort of anti-climactic. After all, Black Flag had sort of said everything there was to say. Who was ever going to do it better, or more intensely?

 | archivist (0) 10/20/2003 | A great band. Buy "Damaged" and "In My Head" first, then get "The First 4 Years" to hear 27 intense minutes of pre-Rollins Black Flag. At their best, no one was better. The truly amazing thing is, they suffered for their art; for years, they worked their butts off, for very little money. Henry Rollins' "Get In The Van" is an amazing rock memoir; he deserved the Grammy. However, I don't understand what Rollins has against U2.
