A terrific coach who should have been given the Ohio State job. He wins with less talent and anyone who recruit any young man to become a Golden Gopher, can win and recruit anywhere!

Comparing Minnesota to Penn State is a joke. PSU has declined dramatically over the past decade and when they've finished with losing records in 4 of the past 5 years it's not much consolation for any team to say they've owned the Lions as of late. Minnesota has been preseason picks to contend for the Big Ten title for the past several years but fall short by a considerable margin each and every year. They seem to do just fine until they get beat by Michigan, then the whole season goes down the tank. They got swept by the state of Michigan two years in a row, lost to Iowa four years in a row, lost 3 of the last five meetings to Wisconsin. They managed a 10 win season in 2003, but since Glen Mason arrived the Gophers haven't done a whole lot. If Minnesota can beat 2 of the 4 B10 teams they're struggling with next year I might bump Mason up a notch, but right now Minnesota's just a pretender with B10 title aspirations and a coach who can't ever bring them over that hump.

Mason is an average Big 10 coach at best. He has made the Gophers better and competitive, no doubt. But his teams almost always go in the tank in the big games against Iowa, Wisconson, Michigan and Ohio State.

This guy beats paterno 4 straight now with less talent.

Has brought Minnessota from mediocre to good but still a little over-rated until he can get them over the hump. Little brown jug still lives in Ann Arbor.

Alright coach. Made Minnesota a stronger Big Ten team instead of a punching bag in the league.34-26 at Minnesota, 2-1 in Bowls and 2-3 vs Wisconsin. He wins, goes to Bowls and has gotten Minnesota to a new level of competitive play. Underrated and not very recognized nationally. Could probably go to a higher profile job and be successful.

Could do better at another school.

If he beats Paterno 4 straight he is better than Paterno.

I love this guy and his team. He is not afraid to use all four of his excellent running backs in a game. His offense is explosive, and his defense makes big plays, but could use some work.

Owns Penn St. This program was a joke and then Mason came along. Critics of Mason are insane. Minnesota has become a Big Ten contender every other year.
