He did a poor job on Los Alamos when he was Secretary of Energy. He has done a lot better job as Governor. He had a great first year, and has gained national status. He should be a lock for re-election, and he would be a good choice for veep on a Hillary Clinton Democratic ticket. This immigration flap could hurt him. He is half Hispanic on his mother's side.

A good and decent man. Better in state government than national.

His credentials and his role as governor of New Mexico will help him for the Democratic Presidential candidate for 2008. Also, as a Hispanic, he would bring in a lot of Hispanic voters to the polls with the exception of the Cuban-Americans. His knock will be how he handled the Los Alamos incident a few years ago. It can't be any worse then George W. Bush admitting there were no weapons of mass destruction.

Now that the '04 race is over, I would love to see Bill Richardson run for the Democratic nomination in '08. His credentials are impecable - Congressman, Ambassador to the U.N., Cabinet Member, Governor and four time nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize! He would mobilize the Hispanic vote and take New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Florida. He could even put Texas back into play for the Democrats!

Lay off the burritos though.

Media hungry liberal who thinks being governor of New Mexico gives him the authority to set US foreign policy.

Bill Richardson is a good man who is leading New Mexico in the right direction. Although he has insisted that he will not accept the No. 2 spot on the Kerry ticket, I believe that a Kerry/Richardson ticket would've been quite effective. Richardson is known for his ability to appeal to mainstream voters from varieties of political persuasions and would've been an asset to Kerry's campaign. As far as his governing of New Mexico is concerned, Richardson has done a superb job thus far. He's taken the initiative in implementing real education reform, has protected the gun rights of law-abiding citizens and has cut taxes for middle class families. The income and sales tax cuts have not hurt New Mexico fiscally or socially, as Richardson and the legislature continue to adequately fund vital services. He has governed New Mexico ably over the last year, always looking out for the interests of those he represents, adopting a common sense approach to governing that is ultimately a successful method of getting things done that will improve the long-term prosperity and progress of New Mexico.

Can't be considered seriously.
