 | abichara (63) 08/29/2003 | I just don't think he had what it took to take on Davis and the Democrats. He seems like a nice guy, but the Democrats play hardball in California and you have to be a real pro to beat them. It's more than just being a conservative or a moderate. It really comes down to mastering the political contours of this really diverse state. Simon just didn't have the toughness to take them on.

 | karmapolize (0) 08/22/2003 | This is a joke right? The voters found him incompetent nearly a year ago, what makes him think he can win now? At this point Bill Simon would only add to the problems the state is in. He might run a great corporation, but I doubt he can manage California in a manner that is fair to both corporations and the consumers.

 | nateman (0) 08/21/2003 | Can you say "sore loser"? I knew you could. I didn't like it when Al Gore lost but decided to put the country through a wringer rather than admit defeat and I don't like when a loser fresh from defeat like Simon decides he wants to screw things up again. How's this for a Simon says: Take your defeat like a man you LOSER!

 | sscheidle (0) 08/20/2003 | Is this guy for real? He's like a mannequin!
Let's put BUZZ LIGHTYEAR from Toy Story on the ballot - at least Buzz has more personality!

 | MrGuardian (0) 08/19/2003 | Bill hasn't had to create a business from nothing, and only has his company due to inheritance. Where is the creative financing that comes with having to make the TOUGH choices!

 | YesIamRight (0) 08/19/2003 | Had better try it again later, he lost only due to the fraud committed by Gray Davis.
Would be a good choice but, has no chance to bring harmony to the state. If elected he would polarize Democrats against him. Best if he just bows out now.

 | mrctjs (0) 08/12/2003 | Bill Simon has what it takes to be Governor of California. Davis lied about the economy of California and he lied about Simon. We have a second chance to do what's right for California, let's not get it wrong again!

 | lilylangtree (0) 08/11/2003 | He makes an ideal candidate. He came close to beating the present governor by 5 percentage points. In the private sector, he is a good manager. The transfer into the public sector would require adjustment but he could make it and bring the state out of its economic woes.

 | sunstar (0) 08/11/2003 | Bill Simon got 45% of the vote last year, and that was when Gray Davis was still lying about the budget deficit numbers. While Schwarzenegger will most likely win, Bill Simon could easily "clean house" in Sacramento, if given the chance.
