A good mix of drama and humour, one of the few good british shows left on tv

one day a young lad called mikael rosen was walking down the street when he walked past a bar called the blue oyster rooms - mikael decided this would be a good place to have a quiet afternoon drink. it wasn't too busy inside but mike did notice that everyone was dressed in leather and they all had handlebar moustaches. he bought a pimms and lemondade and some fat ugly bloke with crotchless trousers came and sat next to him - mike became very aroused and took the man (lets call him andy knight) straight in the mens loo and did him up the bottom. since that day mike has been a raging homo...........

I first saw Coronation Street in 1994 when I moved near enough to the Canadian border to pick up their stations. I haven't missed an episode of Coronation Street since. Both the men and women are rough around the edges, suffer from lack of education and exposure to the world, but the majority of them have good hearts and are just clever enough to get themselves into some pretty amusing spots. I love this show as it give me laugh after laugh and is moving when these working class folks are wise beyond their station would indicate - it's the only show I don't want to live without.

This story line with Charlie and Shelley has gone past all credibility it must be the worst story line of all time.it will have done no good to the actors playing the parts as Shelley's voice is now such a grating sound it makes you want to turn off, finish it NOW please

Soap operas are weird...really weird. Some people have like no drama in their lives, so they think they can get it from TV?! pshh. I once saw one and there was this lady that had a boyfriend and was cheating on him and he found out and was bawling his eyes out..talk about weird.

Whats got into the writers?? Its more like Eastenders than Corrers now, I hate Eastenders and have never watched it, and thats how I am getting with Corrers, theres too many cockney caracters in it for me, lets get back to the old Street, good for a laugh, and with some real story lines.

It's cool!

There's more light-heartedness and humour in the Street than in most other soaps, esp the dank and dreary 'Eastenders'. However, in recent years some of the storylines have been every bit as depressing such as serial killers, cancer, drug dealing. I dont fall for this crap about how TV should reflect real life. If you want that, then watch the 24 hour news channels. It's nice to escape from 'the real world, from time to time.

Coronation Street will always hold a special place in my heart. I started watching it on a regular basis since I was a young girl of 8 years old way back in 1972. Long may the show reign!!!

This show has been on for over 40 yrs.. got to have something going for it! At least there are real life looking characters, not the usual size 0 blondes.

This is nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, compared to the other "real" soap operas!

you can have all those soaps on daytime t.v. give me coronation street any day....ordinary working class people with sometimes less than ordinary lives.
