This is a nice, matter of fact term that gets to the point and doesn't candy-coat it as if the listener were a little baby. I wholeheartedly approve.

Useful when describing someone as, "... crazy as a ......... rat." or, "... built like a brick ......... ."

Yea its a macho way of puttin' it, but honestly depends on when and where. A term I would ONLY use around people Im very comfortable with, or maybe if Im drunk and dont care what people think of what I say.

Its not a phrase for polite company, but its good to have options when one is among the impolite.
