Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet 4

My dentist recommended this several times, and I finally thought I'd give it a try. It is not a substitute for brushing and flossing. What it does do is give you an ultra-clean result. My guess is that I'll be spending less time in the dentist's chair if I brush, floss,Waterpik, and use Listerine. The design is well thought out. An included quick start card was all that I needed to get it up and running. The first time around I felt like my gums took a beating. Note you can dial down the pressure until your gums firm up. Also you don't want to hit your softer tissue like under your tongue or throat with the high pressure water. Ouch ;)

I understand that they make a smaller, portable version. But my dentist said that it give the same results due to a lower pressure. I'd be tempted to try the smaller version for trips. Lugging the full size unit around would be a hassle.

Good product, and I got the best price from Amazon by at least $10.00. Product would be great if it was not so messy.

Works great until it quits and it will quit sooner rather than later. No customer service for a poor quality product. Buy the attach to shower or to faucet type oral irrigator. They work well and are very reliable.

I bought a WP-100 a couple of years ago and have used it happily ever since. However, just before the 2-year warranty expired, the plastic hose started leaking. I asked them if this was covered under the warranty. Being a cynic, I thought they'd say 'Of course the plastic hose is NOT covered,' but to my pleasant surprise it WAS covered and they shipped me a replacement part with no questions asked other than the serial number of my unit. My advice to WP-100 users is to make sure the plastic hose is smoothly coiled when not in use.

Bought this after a previous model died.. actually the handle fell apart and turned into a sprinkler...
I'm hoping the same doesn't happen to this one.
The reservoir is much smaller than my previous model.. but I find that on the highest setting, this runs out of water at around my last few teeth (and I have a mouth full of'em).
If I could improve on the device, I'd leave the top/container part off and set it up so you can turn the reservoir over onto the rest of the machine for storage. The top doesn't serve much of a purpose as only a few of the tips will fit inside anyway.
Others have commented on the release button on the handle.. I've only engaged that once by mistake. If that button keeps the handle together, I'm all for that.
I also have to say that previous models have been more powerful than the top setting on this model but all the dentists that I've spoken with about it say to use it on a low setting anyway, at least for cleaning around your gums.
It comes with a good array of tips as you've probably seen from other posts. The toothbrush tip is pretty neat but the gum irrigator tip is hard to figure out.. the other tips are standard with most waterpiks.
I've seen this model cheaper in other B&M/discount stores but, if you like Prime shipping, it might save you some effort and gas money in the end to buy it from Amazon.
