I purchase this alarm from Amazon and had a local stereo shop install it to save a few bucks. Alarm is awesome has a 1 mile range on it. You have to purchase a bypass box for some vehicles to get the auto start to work, in which i had to for toyota tacoma. The key pad has a display that indicates if the vehicle is locked or not, temp of inside of car, and if the alarm is set off and which zone it is. I personally like the auto start i have my vehicle started in the morning and warmed up before i leave for work. I would definitely recommend this alarm to anyone!! James

I purchased the Viper 5901 and had it installed a little over a month ago on my Ford Excursion 7.3 Diesel. I had it installed at the local Best Buy and they did a great install. The system has one way two way remote which has great range (over a mile without obstructions) I can remote start from the window of my office building and by the time I get downstairs the AC is blowing cold and the truck is ready to go. The two way remote also makes noise and vibrates when the alarm is activated. I activated it once just to test this feature, you WILL know if someone breaks into your vehicle and you are in range. The blue blinking light affixed to the inside antennae is also great for detrring would be theifs. I highly recommend this.

Had installed in '01 Chev Suburban by American TV (about $150 for installation but after installing an alarm myself years ago, not a bad price to save time and headaches - let the pro's do it). Needed to purchase Xpresskit DLPKGM module for remote start to work. Brought both items to installer and drove away a couple hours later. Be carfull where you/installer installs the hood pin sensor or alarm will go off with a slight breeze. (has happened on 2 other vehicles. I don't know why the installers just can't get this right - worked great after a slight height adjustment or relocation of sensor in both cases) 2-way remote can be charged via usb (not included) or wall charger (included). Remote shows if truck is locked, which sensor is triggered if alarm goes off (door, glass, trunk...), cabin temp, time, & much more. Remote also has vib, light, and tone alerts when alarm is triggered. Additional ports on alarm allowed for other options such as auto defroster-on in cold weather and window acutators that roll up the windows if security is breached. Add-ons require additional labor and may require additional parts but atleast the option is there is you are interested. Over all very happy with setup.

If you are looking for an alarm/Remote Start system...Look No Further. This is an awsome system. Easy to install. Loaded with features. An excellent warranty. What else is there?
