Got this as a replacement for a much older fax. First time I hooked it up, I kept getting paper jam error messages even though I hadn't yet put any paper in the input tray. I disconnected it from the power source and phone line and wondered what kind of lemon I'd bought for our department. A couple of days later, I hooked it back up and it went through all the start-up without a hitch. It works fine and is well worth the price I paid. The only drawback is the input tray doesn't hold much paper.

This is a great choice for home or very small office use. It folds up into a compact and visually pleasing package, and gives you the option of making color or black/white copies as well as sending and receiving color or b/w FAXs, plus offers a handset phone. The quality of the FAXs are consistent with what you'd expect from ink jet printers. It offers relatively quiet operation and we have yet to have a paper jam, which was our main complaint with the machine this replaces. I bought this for use in a 7 person office, and must have been in denial about how many FAXs we receive. We used to replace our Brother toner cartridge twice a year. We replaced the ink cartridge that came with this machine in three days. We replaced the HP 21 cartridge we used next in about a week. We're currently on our first 54 and counting. I think we'll end up spending a lot more for toner than we would with a more expensive FAX machine. This machine does not have a large paper drawer - in fact, it's just an open tray and the incoming FAX's slide out on top of the blank paper. It's a really compact system, and like I said, would be fine for those who don't receive a lot of FAXs. We like it, but it's as if we're using a home FAX machine one of us brought in to get us through until the real FAX machine arrives.

I am so frustrated with the fax function. Papers stick together, sometimes three at a time. It hangs up before it processes all the papers and you have to start over. Faxed papers do not stay in the tray and spill out all over the floor. Maybe the printer function works ok, but do not purchase this expecting a pleasant fax experience.

A very affordable and easy to use fax. Programming is simple and intuitive. Good print quality and many features only found on more expensive machines.

This is great. Easy to hook up and works wonderfully. Saves me a lot of time being able to fax from home.
