Is this a stereo for music? No. Is it perfect for listening to Flashman books on tape? YES. Takes a full size headphones and the sound is superb for voice while not bothering your mate two feet away. Two A batteries last for dozens of cassettes. When sound garbles, it's time to replace batteries. Elegantly simple and well engineered.

I expected that it would only record in monaural (after all, there's only one microphone and speaker), but I didn't expect that the headphone outlet would be monaural only. So, you can't listen to pre-recorded tapes in stereo, only monaural.

This is product being used by my son to get statements from the High School Football Coach on what he thinks of the game plays. In other words.... 1) Rough Use 2) Wet/Damp Weather 3) Cold Temperatures 4) Reliable

This Cassett recorder is exactely what I needed. The size is great, and the sound quality is wonderful. It is easy to operate also.

From what i have heard, this is a pretty good tape recorder. i don't know if my mom will buy it for a while, but its worth a shot (by the way,im 17 and broke) i have been needing one for something you may find wierd. me and a few of my friends are planning on starting a band called "Immortal Virus" and me and halie were thinking that a tape recorder to record and stuff might make a good demo for a start or whatever. anyway, this tape recorder sounds good. end-
