I love this place.. especially after I have been out and need a late night bite!! The line is usually out the door, but it's worth the wait...seriously!!

This place is somehow creepy and dirty but that doesn't to keep me away from having the best Quesadillas in San Francisco. The size of the Super Suiza Quesailla is huge and the stuffing is good and abundant.

El Farolito is very conveniently located in 24 th and Mission, right by the BART station. It opens until
3 am, making it the best place to grab food before going back home after a night out. The crowd it tough sometimes!

This is the Carnitas Quesadilla, which is the least recommended but still pretty good:

This place sells the best quesadillas I’ve ever had. Because it’s located in a scary neighborhood (24th and Mission, to be exact), I would never have noticed it on my own. I especially recommend the steak quesadilla, which I crave in my sleep.

el farolito excels in many areas, but not all, like most mission taquerias. burrito construction is consistent and professional, with expert bean/rice : meat ratios and even distribution of ingredients. you won't hit a big pocket loaded with rice. the "super quesadilla suiza" is a house specialty. their carne asada and carnitas are the standouts. al pastor and pollo asado disappoint, but these are common flaws in the mission. for good pollo asado you have to trek out to the avenues for Gordos. al pastor requires a vertical rotisserie that produces a lot of delicious grease and smoke, which disqualifies any restaurant cooking it indoors.

This dirty, nasty, run down hole in the wall churns out cheap, quality burritos - and more importantly - is open late night. There is no better people watching spot in sf that at El Farolito at 2:30AM on a Saturday morning. Mission gangsters mix with faux artistes, preppies, and drunks to chow down and listen to El Farolito's kick ass Latin Rock juke box. If they would clean the tables every once in a while, this would be a five star taqueria.

The monster carne asada quesadilla may be one of the better protein / dollar deals in the city.

While Farolito scores very low on hygiene, the high turnover helps, as food doesn't seem to be sitting out for very long.

Oh yeah, oddly, they have fresh squeezed OJ here that they will juice in front of you.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but one damned great burrito!

Damn good burrito. Can't beat the price either. Love the sliced avocado. A bit ghetto inside, but all the better.
