Taqueria Cancun (19th and Mission) 5

Hands down, the best burrito in the city. Lightly grilled tortilla, fresh meat (I've only gotten the chicken and carne asada, but I hear that the al pastor is great too), whole pieces of avocado, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. If you live elsewhere in the city and have a car, parking is surprisingly easy around lunch time on the weekends - plenty of people pulling in and out on Mission.

Top notch! Definitely one of the better all around burritos in San Francisco... and that's saying something. What's with the crappy chips though???

The Mohado style burritos at Cancun are exceptional and enormous. I got a pretty shady breakfast burrito there once and the pitcher of aqua they offer might have been dish water last time I was there. Order a cervesa instead.

So far, the best taqueria I've been to here (needless to say, not one can yet compare to the real deal in Mexico D.F.). Fresh meat, truly authentic 'tacos al pastor' (many will claim they have them, but beware), definitely a folkloric atmosphere, and simply deeeelish.. Long live Cancun taqueria!!

I am on such a Cancun kick that it's getting a little out of control. Cancun has no parallel in terms of quality of meat, with the Carne Asada and Al Pastor absolutely out of this world. Unlike many of the other taquerias which steam their tortillas, Cancun grills them, creating a light, slightly crispy shell that melts in your mouth. The other thing that I like about Cancun versus the other heavyweight taquerias is that instead of putting guacamole in the burrito, they put whole chunks of avocado. I can honestly say that there is no better way that I have found to spend $4.50 than on a Cancun burrito.
