 | Astromike (16) 08/06/2007 | Every one knows it doesn't have the best graphics compared to todays video games by far. It does though get MAJOR props for being the first mainstream video game system with a huge library of different games available!

 | VirileVagabond (32) 07/11/2006 | Introduced in 1985, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was a substantial improvement in home video game technology with lots of games from which to choose (many still enjoyable today). The limitations of the technology at that time, namely 8 bits, forced game designers to concentrate on action and game play instead of wow 'em graphics and visuals. Also, Nintendo used a lockout chip to have greater control over the quality of games developed by third parties and updated from a simple joystick to a game pad with more buttons and options. The bottom line is that the NES rejuvenated the home gaming industry due to its quality for the time, the included game Super Mario Bros, and the improved controls. Measured by the technology of the day, NES is easily 5 stars.

 | serenitytenshi (0) 10/10/2005 | The original of all Nintendo Systems.... and it is god. None of these other consoles would be around with the grey box! Super Mario 2, (with the 4 electable plyers, including Toadstool and Toad!!) is probably my favorite game of all time, with Mario 3 at an EXTREMELY close second. NES was my first true love, and it continues to be so to this day. I'll never give up my NES! My kids will play the original Mario by my side.

 | 93century (36) 07/18/2005 | I am not into games anymore, but enjoy playing the grey old box sometimes. I like hearing the theme song of the original Super Mario Bros. Hearing that song brings back great memories. I have two good as new NES systems since i replaced the 72 pin connectors in both of them. They dont blink anymore! Tecmo Bowl forever!

 | DickWeener (0) 02/10/2004 | The most popular system in the late 80s and early 90s....Every kid had one of these and the games were light years ahead of Atari....Tons and tons of game titles to choose from, graphics were great for it's time and has many great titles... I like the Mega Man series and all the Mario games....You gotta love it...
