I know, I know. MANY of you loved this flick. I still have scars on my a** from sitting for over three hours watching for those magic words, THE END. Martha made me go to it on one of those promises, etc. She prevented me from going to Murphy's Strip Bar and Armenian Grill to prime, and she kept an eagle eye on me so I couldn't sneak out a flask to take with me. Whenever I had to go to the bathroom, (often), she made me promise to come back. Ladies and gentlemen of the RIA, I was stuck as if I were some poor mope of a fly on fly-paper. I tried slouching in my seat, sleeping, etc. Nothing worked. All the sobbing around me kept me awake. That rat-bastard iceberg didn't show up until about half the flick was over, so I it was a long pull. My summary: a gigantic, titanic, humongous chick-flick stinker!

titanic was a good movie. Well done, good special effects. Kate Winslet, and Leonardo DiCaprio were fine in their roles. However even though this movie is number 1, it is Not my favorite movie or the greatest i have ever seen.it was interesting to watch the Titanic where it hit the iceberg and get an idea of what it was like when it sank.

I admit that I enjoyed watching this movie. No deep reasons; it just seemed entertaining at the time. Plus, I admit to a personal bias for period pieces and I am easily dazzled by costuming - this era is especially interesting to me and the designers did a top notch job with it. However, I can't help but believe that the extreme popularity of this film had more to do with pre-teen and young teen female hormones than anything else. When it becomes a fad to attend a film as many times as possible I would say that might give you rating numbers that are a bit skewed.

Three hours to long, best part was when the boat sank, we were all suprised. The love story was a pile of stuff you find on the farm. Second favortie part is when Leo sinks sort of like the ship. Some interesting special effects but that's about it. Totally over rated.

The very heart of this films appeal was not the tepid storyline or the special effects, it was Leo DiCaprio. The majority of this audience was female and women the world over kept going back to see him.

Very dumb movie. Tried to make the story of the Titanic disaster more accessible by creating a love story on the doomed ship, and the love story was very vapid at that. I can't believe this movie got Best Picture.

Titanic is one of my all time favourite movies. It was well directed, well acted, and just all around well done.

I didn't see any point of remaking Titanic. All it is is a love story untill the ship hits the icberg, then it is a half-@$$ attempt at a documentary.

As great cimema it's no better than a 2 or 3. As entertainment it's a 3 or 4. As a grand cinematic acheivement and publicity event it's a 5. So a 3 overall.

The problem with this list, and I mean no disrespect to the listmaker, is that it does not take into account the change in the value of the dollar. Compare Gone With The Wind's gross and put it in 1990 dollars and its a whole new ball game. On a sub-note, what are we supposed to rate here? Did they deserve the money or not? In that case I vote NO for this piece of manure.
