Michael Denny represented himself very well in today's mayoral debate, despite the fact that a Libertarian has no chance in government friendly San Francisco. His points were simple and powerful: government will not fix the problems that face you, and our city government is messing with things that they are not equipped to deal with. His message was especially powerful when heard next to Leal outlining her plans to start what sounded like a tax payer funded small business loan service (???) and Alioto saying if elected, she plans to have city government infiltrate every aspect of the public school system. I saw Michael Denny's presence at the debate as serving the role of a conscience to any candidate who promises things they can't deliver, and plans to burn tax dollars in things they have no business / expertise in administering.
