Don't judge him based on his TV appearances, he isn't too great on TV with Salisbury. But he writes excellent articles for espn.com and is one of the few writers one can trust to be unbiased. Knows football incredibly well.

This is what a sports journalist should be! This man has more knowledge of the goings on in the NFL then anyone I have heard or read in the past 25 years. I don't always agree with his assessment of games, or talent, but I enjoy listening and reading what one in the right place to know, shares.
