Even better than the Methermopisis by kafka.Every incident leads to a trouble.profound narration of absurd inner mind of K.Does things in here actually exist in the world?.This is a step ahead of magical realism.Imagination is the name of the book.I rate 5+

I love Kafka and I loved The Trial. If you like The Twight Zone or movies like Dark City, READ this book. It was the insipiration for that entire genre of surreal nightmares.

An absurdist comic masterpiece, with a droll, wry and ironic laugh on every page. A very imaginative take on the mundane and pointless nature of the bureaucracies of modern life. A most prescient examination of insecurity, regret, paranoia and guilt. A surreal picture of a world gone mad and not caring at all about it. A renouncement of The System and its effect on the life of the Average Person. A questioning of the essential validity of laws and authority. The Self is under constant attack in this one, and the whittling away of that entity makes this a conceptual version of Candide.

Kafka has his moments, but I never thought this was one of them.

Way underrated, and needs to be read by more people. It can be read on so many levels. The Trial is something we all endure: the Court, the Law Offices, the mysterious higher power is in all of us, all the time. And what exactly was K's crime? Maybe he thinks of no one but himself? Try to find one time in the book where he feels or acts on any compassion for any other human being. It is fun to imagine a debate between Kafka and Ayn Rand, the High Priestess of Ego. --Throughout The Trial are little evidences that it can be read as an allegory for the judgements we render on ourselves. A great book! Five stars.

Though it is somewhat hard to understand, and very strangely written, I still have to give it a 5
