Bowe vs. Holyfield (1992) 5

HOlyfield and Bowe were made for each other and kept boxing in the heavywieghts at the time. Tyson showed that he was overrated when Holyfield destroyed him, when Holyfield was considered past his prime and he wouldn't be able to withstand Tyson's power. Wrong, Holyfield is a warrior, and in his first 2 fights with Bowe--who at the time was one of the greatest boxers, but ruined it with personal problems--proved what a champ he was, especially when Holyfield was backed against the wall by his critics. In the first fight, he was to light at 205 to wear down Bowe, who was a great polished, accurate, big man at 6-5, 240. Holyfield showed his heart in the tenth round, which Bowe had almost knocked him out in the first half of the round. Only next to find that Holyfield's courage and pride turned the round around. Holyfield lost, and it is clear. But, the second fight he came in at 217, and was much more powerful. Bowe was a little heavier, but nonetheless was still active and did not wear out. Holyfield and Bowe II was an excellent fight, which Holyfield pulled off. Round 4 they fought almost minutes after the bell and showed that "hey, these guys want to fight." A sign that the fight was at a rapid pace, in which both punchers threw and landed many more punches than normal heavyweights, even the previous champs. Holyfield and Bowes fights were the best of the 90's, till Tyson got whooped by Holyfield.
