If you would take time and watch it with your children you would see that it is very educational. Yes it is corny but we do many things for our children that we don't want to do. If its all about learning and teaching them manners then why not. My kids were spelling applels and bananas at 2. Now my grand daughter loves to wake up and watch Barney while she eats breakfast. All I can say is that Barney is for the younger kids.

The most ridiculous show. Barney did say that he was a T-Rex and to think, we humans are possible prey to them, and to give him this bubbly personality is fantastic (negatively.) If it was a plant eater, it could be more manageable, but hearing such a laugh or rise in excitement from Barney makes me shudder because he always has a happy attitiude-never have I saw him afraid, sad or angry.

When will PBS take this show off? How come it is shown in international markets too? It used to be serious about learning in its first seasons, now it's giving just fun stuff that most of the time makes it annoying.

There is some type of disturbing aura about this purple creature. I am not sure I would want my kids to follow this program. There is just something wierd about it.

My nephew used to watch Barney when he was younger.I never really watched the show,but i remember watching a talk show around that time with the topic of Barney bashing. A woman on the show was saying her daughter learned how to pick up her toys by watching Barney. If this purple dinosaur teaches children things like this, adults schould not criticize him. These shows are meant for the entertainment of kids only. Not adults. When i was 13 years old i thought Pinwheel was dorky. This because i got older and these shows did not interest me enymore. It is time to grow up people!

A fun filled entertaining show. Nothing too weird to criticize and all the educational elements are there. The show however is getting repetetive for a very competetive children television networks.

Barney himself is a bit goofy, however it is educational and the kids do enjoy watching.

Barney is the gayest show ever! I feel so sorry for the man who plays him!

I personally didn't like Barney, however, when my daughter was 2 & 3 years old, she used watch it all the time. She learned how to use manners and the colors of a rainbow. The show is geared for little kids, not adults. My two younger daughters love watching The Wiggles. I don't like them either, but try telling them that they are stupid. This is another show that is geared for the entertainment of little ones, not bad opinioned adults.

Boring. Thank goodness I never really liked it that much. And this show is sooooo boring to me.

This is a stupid show, too. (I just rated Teletubbies). I think Barney should be cancelled. Why does the USA allow uneducational stuff on TV for our kids? While not as pointless and sickening as Teletubbies, this show is still scraping the bottom of the barrel. Turn Barney OFF! Go read to your kids... teach them how to use a computer... go outside and play with them. UGH! But don't let them watch this waste of airtime. Isn't Barney supposed to be gay or evil or something? Either way, he's still stupid. Where's the sign-up sheet for the Barney public hanging? Put my name on it!

Children should not be watching a purple level 3 sex offender on tv. Kids who watch barney grow up to become pedophiles who join NAMBLA and root for the New York Yankees. We don't want that, do we?

Really gay show with annoying ass songs that get stuck in your head and when ever someone hums or sings their songs,you feel like killing them!!!!

AUGGGGH!!!!!! I can't believe that I used to like this show!!! I mean, It's a big purple dinosaur thingy dancing around, making an idiot of himself!!!!! And those poor deprived children that act on the show!!!! They are so desparate to have a TV career, that they chose Barney of all things!!!

I heard a lot of jokes about this show over the years, but nothing could've prepared me for how incredibly awful it really was. I watched it with my daughter twice, and I just couldn't take it. There's nothing cute or interesting about Barney, and his voice is whiny and obnoxious. The little kids who interact with him are sickly sweet, and their every movement seems stiff and orchestrated. (I kind of felt sorry for them, to tell the truth.) Even if my daughter had been crazy about the show, I couldn't have stomached it.
