 | Moosekarloff (18) 01/26/2006 | One of the crappiest bands of the new wave era. And this was one of their typically moronic, flat-sounding, monophonic and juvenile attempts at a record. "Do Do Do, Da Da Da" should have been simply entitled "Do Do," because that would have been a perfect description of the song. "Don't Fart So Close To Me," was a real cautionary tale, but, er, wait, that's "Don't Stand So Close To Me." Sorry folks, my mistake. Skip that. This band had absolutely no clue as to melody, harmony, dynamics, resolution, etc. Their playing was totally undistinguished. Music for the culturally retarded. A product shoved down the throats of the noncomprehending public by the nameless and faceless suits of the record industry. And Stink's fake Jamaician accent is enough to make you barf.

 | Limpin' Trenchfoot (18) 12/02/2005 | IMO this is inferior to the albums that came before and afterwards i.e. Regatta de blanc and Ghost in the machine. The best tracks here are 'When the world is running down' and 'Driven to tears' but there 's also a lot of mediocrity here too.

 | VirileVagabond (36) 12/01/2003 | Zenyatta Mondatta (1980) was the third full-length effort by the Police, and it was the band's best in my opinion. While I have never been that impressed with the more popular singles from this release (Don't Stand So Close to Me and De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, though the former eventually grew on me), the lesser singles remain excellent: Driven To Tears, Canary In A Coalmine, When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What's Still Around, Bombs Away, and Man In A Suitcase. Zenyatta Mondatta also contains the Grammy winning instrumental Behind My Camel. This release remains a winner through every track.
