BOOOOOOORRRRRIIIIIIIIIING!!!!She has THE most monotonous voice and irritating interview style I've ever heard of any talk show host,that I've seen for the last 30 years - worse than Chevy Chase!Compared to the other lesbian host,Rosie O'Donnell,Rosie was Carson compared to her;far more animated,far more lively,emotional inflections in the voice(And I couldn't stand her,either),while Ellen's voice just monotonously drones;stopping,stammering,and re-starting at almost breakneck speed,and does it ever grate!Gives me ear-fatigue.

She has absolutely no skills as an interviewer.No ability to even ask even one ordinary question without it sounding so forced, and the comic "bits" also come off totally forced, and reek of desperation to entertain.No subtlety to her or the show. And don't get me started on the going up into the audience and dancing bit.

So how does she get the big name guests?Simple - she kisses their asses BIG TIME!( And because she's lesbian,the guests - being in show business - want to be seen as PC and "tolerant" and "progressive" and "enlightened" as possible,but I digress).Yes,99.9% of every talk show has been guilty of that,but with Ellen,it's so easily noticeable.

And,as with recent daytime talk shows,there's the now endless givign away of prizes to the audience,manipulating them( especially,the women )into "WOOOOOOOOOO"-ing and cheering and applaudng.Bad enough when that happens,but on this show,something is said ,or done, to deliberately make that happen,what seems like EVERY FIVE MINUTES( And LESS ).This is NOT a talk show,it's totally an entertainment show,and barely succeeds at that.

I think she has a great sense of humor. For Ellen, it just comes natural. It's much better than watching some who have what I refer to as a forced humor. I think she probably always had a way with an audience and the secret is how real she is. You are right, Jenesse, one should not judge one's performance by their private life. America is too big on that kind of behavior. If we started judging all celebreties on their personal lifestyles, we wouldn't have too much left on air.

When I am able to watch it I like it. I find her funny and her interaction with her guests is nicely balanced. In the context of the show it doesn't matter one way or the other if she is gay or not - its about the humor and the interviews and some of the silly segments.

I think Ellen is very down to earth, funny, I enjoy her show very much from the tomes I have watched. People NEED TO STOP bringing her personal life into this. That is her business. I have no problem with who she is. I would love to see her show live if I could. These are the types of talk shows we need!! I dislike the crap that is on TV now a days. Its all about sex, peoples business, these stupid reality shows. Ellen keep on what your doing!!

There must be an unwritte rule in TV that goes: "If you cannot make it in entertainment do a talk show". If you find yourself watching this show, time to seriously consider getting a life.

Ellen works hard to keep us entertained and truly seems to enjoy her job!! I love the fact that she can be funny and still be one of the kindest and most generous people I have seen on TV.

Okay I hate that people are basing their ratings on her sexuality. It has nothing to do with the content of the show! Lame! This show is one of my favorites. She has great guests on and its always light and funny. I also enjoy when she calls her fans on the telephone and shows videos that people send in. Ellen really enjoys herself on the show and I think that it is fun to watch

She needs to be more out of the closet on her show though. Start showing just how much damage heterosexual breeder do to the economy, the environment and to civil rights. That sort of thing. Have on more homo guests who are more out. Stop allowing hetero breeders to brag about their kids. And stop supporting the US military! Bunch of volunteer mercenaries killing innocent people for oil.

Rating her as a person, she's your All-American...opportunist. I can tell she's not a very nice person, and I don't care that she's gay. She ranks up there with John Walsh as an overrated public figure who is simply famous for a personal issue. I wish she would get lost, Tyra Banks has a much better show and she's a much nicer, caring person in general.

Such an AWSOME show!! With talkshows i have to see what the subject matter is..or who the celebrities are before i watch it. With Ellen...it doesn't matter at all. She could have celebs on i never even heard of and i'd still watch it. She would still be just as entertaining. She is sooo down to earth there is no "air" about her and i think that is what draws people to her ( unlike the tyra show) also Ellen's talk show isn't a "cookiecutter" type talk show..which keeps it fresh, and you never know what she will ask someone. I love the sponteneity. I hope this show keeps going for a long time. I've started taping the show so i could watch it when i get home at night. Way to go ellen. :)

I Tivo it everyday. Great celebrity guests usually, sometimes a bit overdone but always entertaining. Ellen has found her calling!

I love this show! Its great for kids, teenagers, and adults alike. Ellen is so funny and she is a great person. There are no offensive jokes, nothing really PG13, and it is a great show. There should be more shows like it. PS: I think Justin over there is homophobic

An excellent show. I don't usually watch daytime but the show is so good I am taping it to watch at primetime! Love the different bit of bussiness at the begining of each show, the stream of consciousness monologue, the variety ( how long has Letterman being doing the top 10?) and above all the humor. This is one funny show.

i love her show. she never fails to make me laugh. shes lovable and talented .she deals with everything from stars to children to pets to real people.

This site is for reviewing Ellen's SHOW, not her lifestlye. It is very sad to me that several people here have judged Ellen's talent soley on their own opinions of her sexual orientation, and not on her performances. I often watch this show, and there is no way that a viewer would know that Ellen is gay just by watching- she never even mentions this part of her life! If you are anti- gay, that is your opinion, but I don't see how that has anything to do with enjoying an hour of comedy and entertainment everyday. This is not a political show, so I don't know why there are so many political comments.

I think Ellen is a funny lady, but Ellen, as does many other talk show hosts doesnt know when to shut their trap! If you anyone can think that what Kerry said in the last debate was appropriate, and Cheney's family has no right to get upset, they really have lost touch with the real world. In a presidential election/debate, it is the most not APPROPRIATE thing to say or to do. If Ellen at her age can not get that, and she is still on her I am gay kick, GET OVER YOURSELF! NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS A COMMENT FROM YOU OR YOUR FAMILY! Cant gay people be gay and not act like because they are gay, the world is against them? I hadn't watch daytime talk since the early days of Rosie. I had given up on daytime talk. It had become a waste land of trailer park trash getting their 15 min of fame (Jerry Springer) or let's see how many times we can make you cry in an hour (Oprah). Ellen has brought Entertainment back to daytime. Great show!!!

Neveer liked her sitcom,but she is great in an improve setting,hmmm aren't we all!! This is the best show there is today.

I have only seen Ellen's show twice and each time she just cracked me up. She seems already much more quick witted than Rosie O'Donnell (although I loved her for the most part)and does not seem to use the show for some agenda. How long she lasts I think will be entirely up to her.

We love Ellen!! She's so corny yet so damned endearing. She has an eye, ear and nose for comedy and just when to make use of it. Tony's musical taste and Ellen's let's get the party started boogie just clinches the deal.

Hooray for Ellen and her just announced TWELVE Emmy Nominations! She's great. I'm looking forward to catching her talk show reruns this summer. I wasn't able to watch regularly this season but really enjoyed what I did see. She has a sweet but bizarre sense of humor that I love. And how great was she as Dory in NEMO???

I haven't seen her show, but she sucks. I'm open minded, but I'd be surprised if I liked her show. If I do see it and like it, I promise to come back and change my rating. I just can't see Ms. Degenerate foing anything of virtue or merit...

Ellen DeGeneres is F-ing funny as Gweneth Paltrow said. I think this is the first talk show that I have ever been able to watch, without getting up and doing something else or changing the channel. It is nice to have a smart, funny and strong woman on t.v. again. FUNNIEST TALK SHOW EVER!!!
