St. Leo University 4

I started going to Saint Leo University-COL on September 1st 2003, and I have worked my way up to being a junior (I know slow, but at least I'm going somewhere). I have 67 credit hours with a GPA of 3.111, so certainly not the bottom of the class, and I could have a higher GPA if I was to try harder.

The only complaint I would have is it is expensive, however, in my opinion well worth the cost, because I wouldn't be able to deal with classrooms. I enjoy being able to set my own pace and knowing that I am in charge of how good I do.

I would recommend St. Leo to anyone that can learn without having a professor in person. Some people aren't cut out to do online courses, but those that are, St. Leo is a great school if they offer a program that you are interested in.

St. Leo University 2

I am an Elementary Ed student with Saint Leo University at one of the satelite campuses. Overall my experience with the teachers has rated a 5 out of 5. The instruction has been wonderful. The Academic Advisor has always been willing to listen and she is an exceptional administrator. However, One particular (adjunct) instructor is very limited when it comes to using a computer and her evaluations and comments are not consistant. She does not seem to be able to work with students who have disabilitys. I have had great reveiws up until now and may not graduate because one observer has thrown a wrench in things. It is scary to think that you can work hard for four years only to have one person ruin it for you. I would reccomend anyone taking Elementary Education to think twice about taking it at a satelite campus or at least request an observer who is competent if they are uncomfortable with the person observing them. However, The teachers are outstanding and the instruction and assessment is fair.Saint Leo truly cares about its students but will not admit or send another observer if you request one to get a second opinion. It is not worth the expense to go into elementary education if you can lose it all at the last minute. You would be better off getting a degree in another feild and then applying for certification with the Department of Education.

Saint Leo's undergrad program through University Alliance offers an excellent alternative to campus education. Saint Leo is a brick and mortar college and credited. The professors are helpful and any questions are answered within 24 hours. The students are expected to work hard and are graded on their homeworks, papers, message board weekly participations, quizzes and exams. I've taken over 20 online courses with Saint Leo and they have all been challenging and informative. I have to say that I work my "butt" off just to stay on top. Taking online courses has forced me to read the book from cover to cover unlike campus learning. The point is that I have to take the time and teach myself because no one else will. I've learned so much compared to a campus education. I've taken statistics, accounting, financial management, etc. I have 4 classes remaining to obtain a BA in Business Administration, Management. My experience with Saint Leo University has been wonderful so far except for University Alliance. I used to have different representatives in every term, but I've corrected the problem and is only now working with the same rep on every term. University Alliance deals with the registration, tuition, IT support, and books/materials for the students. Saint Leo itself is responsible for the professors and the course. I highly recommend Saint Leo University to people who are looking at an alternative way of learning. In fact, I'm looking at their MBA Online program. I am now a senior with St. Leo & I don't have any complaints. You never have to be online at any certain time, the amount of work for the most part is not overwhelming, and yet you learn. Because you have to maintain self discipline it causes you to learn more. All tests are open book so that makes it easier. The teachers are very helpful, and the staff is, as well. I would strongly recommend St. Leo
